Posted February 10, 201213 yr Hello all from Saint Louis. So a little bit about me. My father owned and operated a local car audio store in my area for over 15 years so I lived my teenage years working in car audio which was great now looking for some subs with a little education behind it. I am big on the Lotus and Miata forums I have an 06 Elise and a 99 V8 Twin Turbo Miata (Nuts I know). I just recently picked up a 2010 Nissan Cube as a daily. I am wanting to put a couple of 12's in the trunk as I like to listen to Drum and Bass and rock. I currently have picked up some Boston SE65 and SE60's I purchased these with the intent of getting a pair of 12" Boston G2's. As the place that I ordered from confidently was out of stock for two weeks I started looking around for other subs. I previously have owned JL's W3's and like the subs but since I am currently on a budget for this build I decided to keep the price around 120 or less for a pair of subs. Now the tricky part is I wanted of course Sound Q as I am 34 now and enjoy my music and not just blaring sound into my face but still like to get a little rattle everyone now and then. I was recommended to check out the SSA DCON's, after looking around the internet and forums I have found people that love these and are crazy about them. So think I will pick up a set. I will also be running these on an Alpine PDX600.1. From what I hear sound Q is nice and SPL is good as well. I am personally not crazy about the look I wish they had the look of the Icons but with my power range I need to stick with these. I will probably take the car to a few shows as well on the weekends with friends as I am in a local Exotics club and if don't feel like taking the other cars out then this one will still be nice. I have been holding off on the purchase to see if free shipping would show up or a slight discount on ordering the subs quite yet. Quick question does anyone know of any speaker grills that might hide the subs a bit also will be up firing theses subs and might want to put a few groceries in the back from time to time. Look forward to any recommendations or ideas on this new project and as new projects go they rarely get completed only build upon.
