I have a 1998 gmc jimmy. I have 2 sundown sa15's in the back with an mtx thunder 81001. Gets very loud only problem is when i turn it up to loud the battery dies. So i'm wondering what kind of battery i should get. Right now i'm looking at an optima yellow top but i'm always open to suggestions in the same price range. I do have the big 3 done, and the alternator is stock but i have no idea how big it is. Any help would be nice because this is a very annoying problem. Thanks!

What do you mean by dies? Is this during running or sitting with the engine off? If it's happening while it's running then you definitely need to beef up your electrical, starting with an HO alt to keep up with the demand of the system and the vehicle itself. If it's happening while you're sitting then what you need is a second battery and an isolator so that it doesn't run down your starting battery.

it happens when i'm driving. My headunit turns off due to lack of power. My volts drop below 10. I have a very small/old battery as well. So my first thought was to get the battery replaced first and then go from there. if i can avoid dropping 250+ for a HO alt that would be excellent
