Posted April 7, 201213 yr I'm leaving today to help a friend with his install. We're going to be soldering a bunch of 1/0 knu cca to the ring terminals. I noticed im out of the solder I used to have and I completely forgot what I had. Real simple. What kind of solder will be best for what I'm doing?

April 7, 201213 yr I use a heavy large diameter silver solder for copper lugs. You will need to prep the lugs first with steel wool, then clean. Next, coat the id of the lug with flux. A flux brush or toothbrush is good for that. You can not usea solder pen or gun for this. You need a torch.I use smaller rosin core solder for finer work such as circuit boards. For that example a solder pen is best.
