What is the gain set at on the amp?

I thought once you hooked the gain knob controller up with the clip indicator it was the one you go by

Most amps use the initial gain setting at the amp and the bass knob acts as a remote level control. I don't have first hand experience with crescendo but to my knowledge that is how it should be and I'd be willing to bet that your gain is set too high on the amp.

But when the 9512 starts to get loud that's when it clips.

What do you mean? Do you have any idea how to set the gain, or are you really just "messing with it"? There are plenty of people on here willing to help but you are making it difficult.

find someone with experiance before you blow the amp and blame cresendo. the bass knob is not the gain. voltage ohm load and rca input voltage need to be measured and set by a pro...

sorry if I came across as bashing . Just trying to help .this should be brought up in a diff section and thread its nothing to do with cresendo. its setting up radio and gaining amp.
