Posted May 9, 201213 yr Just getting back into the game. Have a 04 mountaineer. Soon to have 2 or 3 twelves in it. Have spent the last few weeks catching up on forums. Will post as i start to build.
May 9, 201213 yr I would suggest two 12s with a efficient enclosure Remember to not try to stuff as much equipment as possible without considerations of other needed equipment, such as amp(s), batt(s), as well as the enclosure's needs such as the amount of port and space limitations.Maybe we can help you with your new build. What are some of your goals? Experience, and budget would be a great start!
May 9, 201213 yr Author As far as subs go my budget would be 200 each. Im looking at sundown sa12, skar vvx, ssa. Haven't decided on amps yet maybe 400-500 for sub amp. Im not against buying used. In fact i may have found a set of used sa12's. I'm looking for something thats loud but still sounds good. Havent decided on mids and highs. Any input would be helpful.
May 9, 201213 yr Author Experience- i havent done anything lately, but back in the day i built several boxes sealed and ported. Had various 12's finally ending up with jl's. Put systems in my car(1984 grand prix w/ t-tops ) and my truck, 79 ford.(still have both if them!) always tinkering with both if them. Installed everything myself, the grand prix looked nice and clean. The truck had a bunch of different stuff at any given time but i didn't spend as much time on truck.

May 16, 201213 yr Author Ended up buying a set (2) of used sundown sa12's. Got a good deal on them, look and play like brand new. Can't wait to get the rest of the goodies.
May 26, 201213 yr Author looks like i will be going with audioque amps, a 3500d.1 on bass and a aq 120.4 on mids and highs.
