Hello my fellow bass heads, i have a question for all you experienced compeditors,

Doing my first meca show and the rules say i cant rev engine,

so how do i increase my rpm?

I've seen people at a show do something under the hood, but i could not see what, can someone on here PLEASE explain what and how they do that.

Have til tomorrow to figure it out, Thanks in advance.

lots of newer cars physically cant be changed..

So for those vehicles, MECA will allow you to use a device you would have to make yourself to crank down the gas pedal to a given rpm as long as the device is also not designed to possibly amplify pressure.

If it appears to solely be used to control rpms, then it's legal.

If you have an electric drivers seat you can use a pole or stick to put between gas pedal and drivers seat and use the electric slider to push the seat/pedal to desired RPM.

ghetto but will work in a pinch

IIRC some tuners can change the idle speed but tuners can be quite expensive.

i dont think piggybacks can though.. i think just standalones can..

so, can i just use a brick or something heavy, but isnt that reving the engine

You must be misinterpreting the rules.

Rules state a person can be in the vehicle doing whatever as long as the pressure doesn't exceed 145db.

Above that, user must be outside vehicle.

If user wants to keep engine revved, then it must be done without user intervention.

They do not want actual user fluctuating the rpms of the vehicle because they can't sit there and watch the gauge the whole time.

Yeah that's why I said Expensive smile.png

A tuner will do it for my car... but they're around 400+$

Piggybacks for my car are around $500. Standalones go for about $2,000.

Cars are different though.. I know i wouldnt drop that much money for just a burp, hehe.

Alternator doesn't effect output as much unless your entire altnerator setup can power the system on it's own.

I would have to agree, If you were doing something like SB I would suggest it but even on burps I only drop down to 13.xx from 14v on 8k

Ok i broke 151 at a uasci show, so i will try to rig something to get rpm up.

Thank you guys for fast and very infomative advise.

First meca show wish me luck.....hope i can brake 150

usaci was in kick, right?

MECA will be harder because you have no loading area.. It measures at the headrest and that also means your peak note may have changed too.

05 dodge ram 4.7ltr engine, 270 mechman big 3 and 6 runs (3+ 3-) to 5 g31 workoholic lowrider batts going to 2 bc3500s

Yes in the kick, not really looking to place just maybe a personal best, since its my first meca show any score will be my best, and if i can break 150 then to me its all good
