hello everyone, my midrange speakers cut out once in awhile and make a snapping sound, i am running the front stage active , the tweeters sound fine.

I'm using an alpine alpine cda-117 cd player and pxa-h100. has anyone ever had that problem? could it be the pxa-h100? thanks Brian

If its every once in a while, I would simply run down every connection.

Where's the volume at when it's happening? Are you sure you're not bottoming the coil on the backplate? If that's even a remote possibility I'd stop turning it up so much until you adjust the gain or a crossover setting to keep it from happening before you destroy them.

That's what I was thinking as well.

We just need more information overall about when this is happening. If it happens regardless of volume setting then it might be a connection issue or some other electrical issue. If it only happens at loud volumes then it's likely the speaker bottoming out which means you need to not turn it up so loud and/or raise your highpass filter.
