Just for fun I took my car to a local MECA event. The judges and organizers were extremely friendly and very helpful. Excellent group.

I was placed in M4. I have a DD M3a and a single 18" Z.3. My enclosure is the complete opposite of an SPL enclosure. I can only imagine what it would do in the right enclosure.

I managed a 142.87 @ 35hz. Not too bad I guess. I really thought I would be over 145 though.

MECA's scores are always lower than any other league because they measure at the headrest which has ZERO loading around it.

I demoed it a few times before the run and everybody thought I was close to 150. I think the "wow" factor of the 18" makes it deceptive.

IASCA was there too. Maybe I should have went over there ughdunno.gif

Doesnt matter much. I didnt design this system for SPL.

But who drives with their head in between their legs, or up in the windshield? :P

Or in a globe lol

exactly.. headrest metering is known as Reality SPL

nice score, very low too nice and impressive,

people that know very little offten say things like " thats gotta be 150 bro"

never the less, sweet score,

most people here ONLY meter in the kick,

me personaly i run in another orginazation, that meters at the head rest... its harder to put up big numbers but its funner to try,

i have done a 147.7 at the head rest on music. thats my high so far...

again great job.

Jon you tricked me! This whole time I was thinking you did that 51 at the headrest lol

good number at 34hz!! Yeah it's deceptive, my 15in FI Q did 140at the headrest at 30hz with my old setup. Can't wait to meter the new shit.

I can see how these SPL comps can be addictive!
