Posted March 18, 200619 yr ok so i was still looking at buying a sub amp and i started talking to this guy that said he has a audiobahn A18001DT brand new in the box that he will sell me for $200....does that sound like a pretty good deal?,it sounds like one to me i just dont know alot about that amp.i know this amp retailed pretty high and everything but i wanted you guys opinion on this before i do it.
March 18, 200619 yr It's a decent amp. I would do some searching though to see what you can find that doesn't say audiobahn on it.What subs do you have? Will this amp even work with them?
March 18, 200619 yr Author well in fact i have the 2 audiobahn flame q d4 12's so....i know alot of people dont like audiobahn but i think this could turn out to be a good deal.
March 19, 200619 yr It might work well for a year or so...It really, really isn't worth it. Even if it is their diamond in the rough with the quality of the rest of their stuff I just flat out wouldn't do it. Plus $200 sounds like too much, if it were $80 or something perhaps.
March 19, 200619 yr Author 80 bucks???....i mean that sounds alittle too low for an 1800 watt amp that most stores sell it for 450 new..... so should i still go with the opti2000 like i was going to?......i need about 7-750 a piece so a good amp around 1500-1700 would ge good i just thought that amp would be a good one but i wanted to ask on here first.
March 19, 200619 yr As with the answers in your previous post just get the kicker or the orion or continue to ignore advice and end up with some crap.
March 19, 200619 yr Author i guess ill just keep looking cause honestly i still dont know which to get cause i just keep hearing different things about everything i look at.
March 19, 200619 yr Admin nate, you have to understand that the Audiobahn amp is probably not putting out 1800 watts. You dont need to worry about getting the most watts for your dollar. Chances are you are not going to be able to hear the difference between that and something of lesser power. It is worth saving a few extra dollars and buying something of better quality that will last longer and have better resale value.
March 19, 200619 yr Author yeah thats a good point too....it just sounded like a good deal for $200 since im kinda strapped for cash right now.its just hard to make a good decision on everything thats out and not regret it later when i get an amp and then be dissapointed when i hook it up and be stuck with it.
March 20, 200619 yr Much better idea. If you are really strapped buy something that is worth what you will pay for it and you can upgrade at anytime.
