Posted March 20, 200619 yr Okay, i just picked up a couple oldschool USA-400's (the 24" long ones) and im wondering what the real power ratings of these things are. ive been getting alot of mixed answers, and google isnt cutting it. of course ive come up with the 1200x1 at 2 ohms, as per manual. But ive been reading that these amps put out WAY MORE than this. unregulated power = 10 percent gain in each volt about. and other various gains. ive seen 1600-1800w at 2 ohms... 2kw+ .. amp stable to 1/2 ohm. etc.. but i dont even know what's what anymore. what is the real deal on these amps? ie: whats the benched performance of these things? i may run a pair of subs at a half ohm... or stick with the 2 ohms.. or switch out subs for a 1 ohm load. but im just wondering if the power increase is worth doing that?ill be using a 6xs from audiocontrol to xover this amp, and to keep the gains at a minimum.
March 22, 200619 yr hey i am baffled to at what these amps are trully capable of, i would like to hear what you have to learn from this and what other people have to say. o and can anyone have any input on wheather or not this amp (http://cgi.ebay.com/US-Amps-USA-400-2-channel-1ohm-stable-1000-watts_W0QQitemZ9701979208QQcategoryZ18796QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem)is any good, well i kno it will be good, but wheather it is worth getting for my 15" diamond d9, and is this the same amp as you have?
