Can you guys recommend some really good affordable e.q.s to me that you really like?

What exactly are you looking to do? What are you trying to fix?

I'm only running a component set up front and a sub in the trunk, so my needs were handled nicely by an Audio Control EQL. I got an open box from Crutchfield for $169, but I don't know what "cheap and good" means to you or what your system consists of.

Maybe you just need a better head unit with more EQ features.

The eq in my 80prs does just fine.

Applying an eq to have an eq is a terrible reason and will result in fail. Fixing anomalies in the response of your system though is a great idea. Of course in order to select said eq it requires a description of what you are trying to do.

There is absolutely zero point in discussing EQ's or suggesting options until this, at minimum, is answered.
