Hi guys I have been looking at these little guys for awhile and have thought about running them in my 03 ford explorer behind the third row seats. At first I thought about running them off a sundown sax 1200d but now I have come across this website and discovered crescendo audio and seen the bc 2000d and love the way it looks and its a little cheaper. I was just wondering if these little beast would hold up or am I better off running the sax 1200d?

If you were able to set the gains and lower the output level of the amplifier, it would be fine. I wouldn't suggest trying to apply the full 1kw per driver.

How much space are you willing to sacrifice for an enclosure? It might be possible to find another driver that fits well within the allotted airspace that would provide overall better performance for an equivalent or lesser price to the SA8v2.

I was thinking I could run the 2 8's behind the third row seat which only leaves me with 44"w x10"d x11"h could go a little taller if needed. Subs facing up port facing up.

How much louder would the sax 1200d at 1ohm compared to the bc 2000d at 2ohms? Would there be a huge noticeable difference or would they sound pretty close?

did i miss the goals

I had a BC2000D and before I sold it, clamped 1,938w @ 1.67 ohms. Just to give you a reference of power it can do. I would personally go no more than 1,500w, they are impressive little drivers, go with the sax1200D or find a used SAZ1500D if price is an issue.

By default if you are asking the question those subs aren't for you. There can be exceptions but yours isn't the case. The enclosure is going to be the tricky part, start there and REALLY compute your space. Without knowing, choosing a driver or an amplifier is WAY premature.

I have two Sa 8 v2s on a Rockford fosgate t1000bd and the amp is rated 1000 @ 2 ohms. If you ran the sax1200 @ one ohm I would assume it would be harsher on your power as opposed to running a 2 ohm load for the same amps. I'd go with the crescendo. I will warn you that my 8's get pretty warm on 1000 watts

Thanks for the input I was kind of leaning toward the crescendo anyway that way I have room to expand later down the road if needed or wanted and I'm sure it will be wanted.

Do as Sean suggested and figure out exactly how much airspace you're able to sacrifice, and then define your goals.

You may have a wider and better selection than the SA8v2's. For example, you might be able to go with a single 12" for half the cost and obtain equal or better performance depending on airspace.
