Will carpeting the sub box lower your db output?

    This is debatable. In some cases it will, but it is very minimal. If this is a daily application it won't make a difference in sound produced or volume, but yes it may lower your reading on the meter.

    Iv seen some tests done and it can be as much as .5 db lower by adding carpet.
