November 13, 201212 yr If you only have a 3" aero port, that is way to small. You need much more port area.Agreed.
November 13, 201212 yr Pictures would help as well. If I had to recommend a box for the 10" XCON it would be 1.75cuft tuned to 33-37hz with at least 45sqin of port.
November 13, 201212 yr how big would a box that its 1.5 with a 4" aero at 35hz have to be?If you are going with an aero port, I would use a 6" one at the absolute minimum.
November 13, 201212 yr The settings on the subsonic and LPF are fine. 1.1cuft may be within spec for a sealed but it's definitely not within spec for the ported enclosures for this sub. It needs a larger enclosure and more port area wouldn't hurt either. As I mentioned, give a bit of info and I'd be glad to help you get a box designed up, with cutsheet. All you'd have to do is go cut it and assemble. Hell, I may even have one made up already for my XCON 10 before I decided to go with the PR's. The problem with building is i do it all day and hate to do it after ha. I also can not carpet anything so i dont do it cause it slides around the trunk. What do you think on size. I have a 4" aero port and would like to see what the sub could do. Any chance you would be interested in building/carpeting it? He is nowhere near you buddy..... Just paint the enclosure with textured spray paint....

Just paint the enclosure with textured spray paint....I've recently discovered that I really like bed liner for painting enclosures and such. I have had a bunch of crap riding around in the back of my Jimmy after completing the amp rack for weeks now. It had marks all over it from it all and every mark wiped/buffed right off. Just amazing stuff.

November 13, 201212 yr Author Anyone want to give me a cut sheet using a 4" aero? How about 1.5 35 hz.
November 13, 201212 yr Having experience with building enclosures for the 10" XCON, a 4" aero port will not work if you are concerned about port noise. It may work in a low power install around 500w. If the 6" aero will not work a slot port should be built.
November 13, 201212 yr Anyone want to give me a cut sheet using a 4" aero? How about 1.5 35 hz.If you're looking to increase output, why are you shooting for a box on the smaller side? Also, slot ports make it a lot easier to attain optimum port area. If you haven't checked out the sample enclosures on this site I encourage you to do so.
November 13, 201212 yr Anyone want to give me a cut sheet using a 4" aero? How about 1.5 35 hz.Be glad to, but I need a little info on your max dimensions, preferably the measurement on the two most important dimensions to you, such as height and width. As I mentioned before I had already designed a couple of regular slot port enclosures for my XCON before deciding on going with the PR's. The last one I decided on before the PR's was 1.75cuft NET tuned to 32hz with 42sqin of port area measuring 31"W x 15" D x 15.5" H with a 3" wide port, all measured and made up for the back of my Jimmy. If those measurements would work for you I can throw up the cut sheet and Sketchup drawing.EDIT: Here's a quick pic of the drawing of it. Of course the plexi was just my thing, but you get the idea.
