I would like to know, is this speaker strictly for SPL only, or does this have a decent sound quality? Please help, thanks.

many people use it for both... one of my favorite installs was 4 15 sp4's in a 6th order... it was crazy

it spaces the spiders,.,, on most speakers the spiders are sandwiched togather, and glued on the landing.. spacing them apart privides more control on a long former,.

yes it does, it sounds great.. far from a FART sub,.. it plays low and nasty, quick and nice, and it takes goabs of power...

if i rememeber correctly i think FI made this woofer to play music better then the BTL. and also be able to BURP on the weekends.....

SWIFT here on SSA also has a set... and he set up to the SP4s FROM the Q's ... so he would be the very best person to talk to about the SP4vs Q sound wise.

well, just finished odering it now, hope I'm happy with that SP4.

Swift gave me a demo of his SP4s when he had 2 of them. I asked him his thoughts on the SP4 vs the Q and he said the SP4 have the same sound quality but louder.

I was impressed with them overall and owning Qs myself I believe his assessment is pretty accurate.

Swift has 3 18 sp4's now and i went to a comp with him last weekend. the sound quality is pretty shocking...if your just going for sound quality get a custom sealed box for it and it would be sweet. my car is like yours..im putting a 15" sp4 in a 4th order. these subs are perfect in my opinion.

for a custom box its best to find a trusted designer .. pay for blue prints. and find a good wood worker localy, and have your box built.

Love mine, best of both worlds IMO. Put it in a good enclosure, power it correctly and you will be very happy.
