I will be building some custom tweeter pods for my new Morel tweeters that are coming, I was wondering if someone with a lot of experience can tell me some of the better directions to aim them.

I'm looking for good staging, and good response.

Any help will be much appreciated.

Somewhere between facing each other and aiming at your ears.

Problem with the question is EVERY driver is different. Processing has an influence as well. You need some fun tack and a bunch of hours in the drivers seat.

Use double sided tape and see where you like them.

Just to give some more information, they are Morel Maximo's with a Pioneer PRS-800 as the EQ, Crossover, and T/A controller.

When I was testing my kicks I used clay between the baffle and panel to adjust the aiming:

That's awesome

For a-pillar mounting prefer more of an off axis than on axis mounting. Dont be too concerned about the passenger side being more on axis than the driver's side. Distance and level matching will smooth it out. Aiming at the top corner of each a-pillar worked well In my last install.

I use a laser pointer to adjust aiming equally for either side. I cut a mounting ring to hold the laser pointer inside the mounting rings for the drivers.

I use wood dowels and hot glue to hold the mounting rings for testing and 'glassing.

Cool idea!

Fun tack is even better as it replaces the tape at the same time. Basically like sticky silly putty. Office stores have it for hanging posters and such. Hearing aid industry uses it to mount hearing aids for test since they are all formed to human ears and therefore have unusual shapes.

edouble's generic aiming may have "worked" in his last install, but there is a difference between worked and optimized and not taking into account the drivers at hand in a recommendation is inappropriate to follow.
