I have been dragging my feet on buying a new lens. Don't really want to buy a sony brand lens. What are your thoughts on Tamron?

Depends on the lens. Some of them are junk, some are nearly equal to their brand equivalent, and some are in between. What length do you need?

I am looking at their 16-300 and 18-270. Looking for an all in one for the wife to use.

I am going to call B&H tomorrow and get their take on those.

Haven't used the 16-300, but own the 18-270. I NEVER shoot it. Focus is slow, can't take multiple shots in a row and have them stay in focus, nothing is sharp, and generally just not a pleasing lens. Nothing in the superzoom realm is though.

If you need to cover that range you need the equivalent of a 17-55 and the 70-200. Not sure on Sony/Minolta but around those ranges. No way any one lens is worth owning like that. If you do buy one, buy it used. Price drop shows exactly what most think of them.

The answer to the water riddle is....wait for it....temperature.

Ph of PURE water changes with temp change. Thus raising the resonate frequency of the molecules. smile.png

miniDSP's for the Big Ugly just arrived

I downloaded the 2x4 and Harmony programs. The 2x4 def is superior looking from the features. Curious if there is any unwanted feedback from the unit.
What do you mean by unwanted feedback? I am up to four of them now...

I'll be driving through the middle of Kansas City sometime this week around lunch time. Any recommendations for can't miss lunch spots?

LC's. Since you are from Texas figure Kansas city style might be fun for you.

Whats your input voltage?

Made some wicked good fajitas with the first habanero chili pepper out of the garden! Will take your breath away while cooking.

Even if not water, it is easy to do.

<---- Has lots of chile's to dehydrate soon!!

Do you mechanically dehydrate them? If so/not I am curious as to what you use.

Also wondering if you separate the seed and more importantly how. I was about to buy a tomato separator assuming it would work as I am shy on powder atm.

I have learned A LOT about water growing hydroponically. Hydrogen bonds being one of them.

Have a tray of Thai's sitting on a cookie rack/tray combo. Figured I'd let them get started before firing up the dehydrator.

I have used one of the electric tray style dehydrators for the last few years. Always used the oven at low temp, with the door open before that.  The Thai's i just leave the seeds in. Others I just slice and scoop the seeds out.

Hard to get fruit right in the electric dehydrator. I shall try again this year.

Whats your input voltage?
Less than a half volt on one setup, the other almost a full volt.

My oven has a dehyrdate setting. Thought maybe you had some nice tricks.

I am WAY too lazy to extract that many seeds by hand.

According to Tamron their new line addresses the issues they had previously. The 16-300 was just released in March, so I figure the guys at B&H will have had some play time.

My daughter was the lead model at a bridal expo today, pretty scary thinking that could be coming in a couple years.

If you shoot a non-superzoom and then a super you won't be interested in the super.
