Seth, correct me if I'm wrong but didn't you smoke weed regularly prior to your sobriety cycle you are currently on?

I thought you did, but I could be wrong.

Either way, at least I'm not alone.

:-)

Nope. I smoked hash oil occasionally, but that's really just because I was making it in quantity for several distributors. People are weird when you blow hash oil and don't burn it with them. One of my friends has a huge growth operation, and I used to grow when I was younger, so I am around a lot of strains, and have been around them for decades. While my familiarity used to be because of use, now it is mostly close second hand knowledge. Admittedly I did try several new strains just to see what the fuss was all about, but I wouldn't say even semi-regularly... maybe 3 or 4 times a year. Weed makes me paranoid now for some reason, but BHO does not have that effect.. It is just so strong the way I make it I become really quiet. Everyone who has partaken of my BHO is blown away by it's clarity, strength, and yield. I have a lot of friends in the drug trade, so I am around it a lot. Not long ago a bunch of them got popped, so I am currently just enjoying an occasional blast off, and am even considering some LSD soon.

I like the texture of Dave Matthew's music. I can't say I specifically like it because they are awesome, because the overall style is not really my taste. The way they all work together is so unique, and it offers such a fresh perspective on each instrument and style that I find it refreshing. Also, as a critical listener, I find their instrumentation and the quality of their recordings to be fucking amazing for showing off, or enjoying the quality of great equipment.

Songs don't have to be acoustic, but they can't require a complete band.  I can mock the sound of something else if necessary and hell I don't even own an acoustic guitar.  I do have an old Gibson, but it is too rare to travel with and is really a plectrum not an acoustic.

I just rolled out 93 billed hours this week. My tickets alone totaled $44,000 this week. FWIW our average month is a hair over $100,000.  I am getting frustrated making this much money for someone else. I need to find a building to get my own damn show on the road.

That is kick ass! If I lived closer I would love to help you get your own shop up and going.

Well I leave tomorrow morning for NY. Looks to be about 20 hrs not counting gas and food stops. Hopefully I can make it in 20 hrs by going a little faster LOL. All depends on the traffic, and weather.

Buying new tires on the 1st and getting them installed and alligned when I am home too. Anyone have good sites for buying tires? If bills hadn't taken a food chunk, I would have picked them up before I left, but they aren't worn bad enough to make me stress.

J

You will be driving right by my town, most likely. If you do go through Greensboro (I assume you will hit the 85 in GA), look up Taylor Tire. They sell to the public cheaper than we can buy wholesale.

At my age that is ridiculous. But I am super sore and super tired.

I drink about a gallon of sparkling water a day.

The ONLY liquids I drink with any regularity are:

Cappuccino , Espresso, Beer, Wine, Sparkling Water

Sports drinks aren't exiled from the home, but the only reason they are bought is that they are portable. Rather rare though. They don't do anything good for you body.

I usually dont drink the fancy coffee much I do drink about 2 cups of black coffee in the mornings..what kind of beer?

lots of kinds. Depends on the food and weather. Have probably 20 different micro brews in the house atm

Like Sam Adam's?

Eeew.

Open Mic night at our weekly neighborhood bbq. I didn't realize, should have asked about songs earlier

Prince--Purple rain is usually a big hit at BBQ's
Really?
His BBQs.

I do like some vintage Prince jams though.

Maybe born to be wild.

I need these...

1. Western Electric 422A (early 50's grey plate and later 60s black plate)

900x900px-LL-b5217764_IMG_0961.jpegef3bba7d_IMG_0962.jpeg

This is Western Electric's version of the 5U4G, with slightly different specifications, it should be fully compatible with 5U4G amps (Stratus - maybe, Woo, Decware, etc.). The construction is quite interesting, having the same domino plates and overall build as the Tung Sol 5998 power tubes. Anyways, the sound? This is by far the best tube I have ever owned or heard. My reference tube. As with many of the rare holy grail super tubes out there, they are nearly perfect in every way. Hauntingly beautiful tone, lots of air, great layering, transparency above the rest, and just perfect extension in both the highs and lows, deep bass, palpable, lucid midrange, holographic 3D staging and imaging (like with the WA22 and Glenn OTL, the image is very life-like and out of head unreal good at times), amazing! Overall balance is great as its neither overly warm nor bright, transients and PRaT are as good as they get with tubes (like seriously, beautiful liquid transients!). Out of both tubes I have, I think they both sound pretty much identical, the older grey plate looks a little nicer and might sound a bit better, but they're pretty much the same tube. Price is generally high with singles being anywhere from $400 to 750$.

I think I am grabbing the Woo Audio WA6. I just wish I was willing to shell out the cash for these beauties!

Thinking it is hot tub time after the sore comment Seth.

Indeed. But admittedly I am getting a little tipsy right now. Hard rootbeer is fucking good!

Sounds good, what kind? I take my drink to the hot tub and try not to get too drunk.

Kidding. I suck at shit like this, so I will step aside.

LMFAO!!!

You trying to get me killed?!!!

I would love to try and build some tubes, someday.

So the wife thinks I am weird because I want to wear a stormtrooper helmet with my R2D2 carry on on our next cruise October 31st.

Hey it is Halloween after all.

Small Town Brewery's Not Your Father's Root Beer. It tastes like an A&W root beer float. I say float, because it has a fair vanilla taste to it. I can't detect any alcohol in it, but I have had a girl say she had a slight alcohol taste on the finish. It is so much like root beer that you even get the heavy gassy burps. It is retardedly good.

I have a buddy who's dad was a TV and Radio repair man. His dad died ~25 years ago. He said he has a ton of tubes... 2-300. All tested and working 25 years ago. He said some are still brand new in unopened boxes, some are used, but all test good. He told me if I brought him a good cigar and a bottle of bourbon I could have them.

I am anxious to see what he has.

I think I may try to build if the score is good. I want to see what tubes I have to work with then start some schematic hunting.

My only concern is how will I make the chassis? I want anodized aluminum (black) with some wood accent plates. I am thinking a curly mahogany like my mains, or a crotch mahogany...
