Sean, when it comes to bows, I don't think I can recommend Matthews compound.

By no means am I some kind of archer, but my BIL is a big fan. Just cough up for the best. Aluminum shaft arrows are probably the best idea for you. Most durrable and you don't need the extra speed or rigidity of carbon.

Get whatever trigger feels best for you, I can give you a rec if you want.

If you would like to get fitted, any of the big sports shops can help. If you want smaller, I know Cappras in Blaine is a good, the BIL goes there.

A recurve would be silly IMO but if you want to feel like a savage they are fun. It would equate to going from black powder to modern cartridges to me.

A crossbow could be ok... But hunting with them here might only be ok for people's with disabilities. Have to check on that.

Hunting with a bow is probably more exciting. But. Rifle is probably more humane and you get to blow more money on optics! I purchased a scope and its been sitting 3+ years for a rifle lol.

Hard to shoot fish with a gun Sean.

Dynamite!

M80's are actually fine.  Used to get those when I was a kid.  Rather effective.

Old school M80's were beasts!!!

I still know a guys who makes them.

And more seriously Mike.  The prices I gave you were for lake front.  Now you all know why I don't live on lake front.  1/3 -1/2 acre lots here not on the lake go for $400-600k, on the lake it can quintuple quickly depending on location.  Real estate is nutso.

It can get kinda steep on the price here to Dave Ramsey has one on the lake maybe 1-1.5 miles away on lake front, also several country music stars as well have lake fronts here as well.

Country Music Star is an Oxymoron

The one spot a recurve has potential from what I am reading is fishing.  You don't need the velocity or distance and the ease of use outweighs the power advantage of a compound.  Plus I could get started cheap.

....I just don't trust ANYTHING I've read though.  Forgot about Capras

At over 2hp there is no reason NOT to buy the Hitachi.  If you want a smaller one then the Bosch or PC.  I bought the PC as I got a fixed based and plunge base for the same price as the plunge Bosch.  I keep the fixed in my table saw so I have a fence for it.

If I did it over again though I'd grab the Hitachi, it's a fucking beast.

They do make nice tools with a kick ass warranty.

I would like to get into cutting my own wood, not sure if it has to do with watching Building Alaska.

I catch myself looking at portable sawmills lately.

Aargh.  Windows :(

I have an ISO

I have a Key

Getting the ISO into a format that boots on the laptop is a complete different story.  The laptop has no operating system on it now so it has to be bootable.  I've built a bootable USB, flash, and DVD and none have worked.

I did regret the purchase.

Bumped up to a 600 series. I think my balls dropped and I grew 1" closer to the ground.

Hilti makes some good shit.

Hilti is kinda pricey though..But probably one of the best drills I have ever used and their batteries will out last dewalt x3..

You're sure they're bootable and not just holding the iso file? Check bios and make sure boot order has cd or usb ahead of hdd.
