Neal, when you were shopping last, did you happen to drive a Venza?  If so, what were your feelings?

Drove one with my mom a week ago.  Holy shit boring.  $39k in the format we looked at as well and for cars in the $35k-43k range it was the last one on the list.

There's nothing better than a boring car for a daily driver.

Couldn't disagree more.  Even if I did agree the Venza makes no sense in that regard.  Uber expensive for what it is and boring.

It's in my price range, so I don't find it expensive; it also has everything I want/need from a daily. I like boring daily drivers. They are simple and for someone who fixes shit all day long, the last thing I want to do is come home and have to fix shit. I will have a toy so there is no need for anything fancy for a DD

Had a BM'er 550 for the week, that only has 400hp

My wives XC90 with ~300hp isn't so exciting...but since it is in the shop we have a minivan which is probably around there. I'll drive it this weekend and let you know how much fun it is.

Guy said he could contact the auto center to see if they could arrange that. Didn't figure they would be willing to do that, and still might not as he hasn't talked to the auto centers yet....but I'm tired of having to jump my fucking car in 10* weather, so atleast it's a step in the right direction.

They can and will ship from another store and should honor the price. Being a former employee, I've seen them do this countless times. I've also seen them screw people as well and charge them for shipping from the other store. Be very careful and check your receipt. If there is even a penny difference, get the manager in there ASAP and then threaten to call corporate.

The guy never called me as promised, had both my work & cell #.

Suggestions? My dad is looking into Napa specialty AGM batteries as I could get those at cost, but if they aren't as good I need the Diehard from Sears and need it soon, like in a day or 2, if this weather keeps up. I can't drive my car anywhere as there's a 90% chance it won't start.

I've looked all over and can't find where to buy one />

We buy sticks from a farm in the north west and artificially inseminate. They run about 50- 150 bucks a stick depending on the bull.

But then I need a heffer and a stick. Not opposed, neither is the BIL but still need an animal. Where/how did you find the first ones?

$40k is a ton of dough for a car. I barely paid more for the ML which has required no wrenching.

I also have no faith in the newer Toyota's for being reliable beyond anything else.

The Napas are good. Should have a good warranty too, so if you can get it at cost and actually get it versus hassling with Sears, I'd go that route.

I'm not buying brand new. I will only buy Ford vehicles brand new since I get them so cheap. Yeah, fuck $40K for a Venza.

I need some life and spirit to my daily driver. Hence why I can never keep myself from modifying them. Upgraded rear sway, HID's and new PIAA Fogs going on the P5 Monday. />

I need some rawr in mine even tho it's only 116hp. I've been tinkering with this idea of a dual exhaust, just need to figure out how to tune the sound to my likings.

Performance is an addition for me, far out weighting audio.

Doesn't help that the American Wagyu Association is based out of Aggieland

I was pleasantly surprised to see the honing on the cylinders is still there after 110k miles. And the interesting part about the engine is that it has some sort of an integral block girdle. The crank bearings sit in big aluminum holders, which go inside big holes in the block. When the aluminum expands, it presses against the holes in the block. And that way the block is fully enclosed on the bottom side.

Good news seeing that I want big boost and big torque at low revs

Hopefully I can find time to clean-up the bike. 1 week of very muddy roads and a few runs in the rain and it's VERY dirty.
