February 14, 201312 yr I respectfully disagree about the revolver thing J. I think revolvers are great but a singe stage trigger ,striker, auto loader is maybe the most simple firearm to USE.Rack it and bang until no bangs. Then load next mag, tug slide and bang away some more.Wheel guns handle recoil nicely, but are in truth much tougher to shoot. Not the least of which is a fucking looooooooooong trigger pul.Just glide back the hammer before squeezing. Problem solved. I only suggest wheel because of the possibility of the magazine not being seated properly or of a jam. In home defense milliseconds are life seconds.I love .45 personally too. I think it is a better caliber than 9mm, but in the thick of it, more rounds sometimes trump more thump.Very true. I just know with the amount of crazed druggies that you find in AZ I'll take 15 rounds of .45 over 17 of 9mm any day.JMy xdm holds 21-22 in standard non CA magazine for 9mm. ....what, mine is only 19+1???I agree with J on the safety talk too. Modern autos have more safeties than even needed. And revolvers are a joke to reload. Even with a speed reloaderMany people love that judge too. I personally think it is not a good choice but it inspires a lot of confidence in the shooter and terrifies bad guys. I would be much more afraid of a person with a good working modern auto of any caliber.

February 14, 201312 yr Ordered a case of Junior Johnson Moonshine today. Kinda low proof, but it is real good. It's OK. I have had various flavors and never been terribly impressed. IMO it tastes like vodka. When I stop up to visit I'll bring some real apple pie white. You'll never drink JJ's again.

We ran out of the good stuff and tried th Junior Johnson stuff and we though it was good enough until the next hog hunt.

February 14, 201312 yr I get off work too late. Came home and immediately started on chicken soup. Have another couple hours of simmering and then I have to put it right into the fridge. WTF?

February 14, 201312 yr I need a 2" water temp gauge that at least reads down to 80F. Would prefer digital as it'll get shook to hell. Beast would climb in temp running at WOT and then settle down at cruise. Really fast. Happened somewhat sudden. Thought I had ran low on oil or something. Coolers in the rear weren't hot, but gauge showed it. Saw no increase on the EGT's either (not calling 1150-1200 an increase - 1375 is okay where they are). Pulled the gauge and either broke it by connecting to a 2 amp charger or it was effed already. Tried it with 2 different transducers and it showed Lo in 185F water.
February 14, 201312 yr What powder did you get Stefan? I have been thinking about trying them again. If you are dead set on leaving them the 100% whey from muscle milk at costco is a really good price for super top level protein.Lemme check it when I'm home. I've had the stuff from Costco before, and the now whey isolate unflavored, both I really liked. In fact with the unflavored now I use to mix 80g+ at once before I started drinking lots of milk. Mixed well, and had little taste. Stefan, Did you have a problem with True Nutrition? If so please let me know directly brother. I have not been able to be in the hop for a bit (server vs my computer issues) and I want to ensure you all are treated correctly. JFor some reason the whey I bought seems to upset my stomach. Whether it's the specific whey, or me, I do not know!
February 14, 201312 yr And Matt, the Whey I ordered from TN was the Whey Protein Concentrate - High Grade. I specifically got it because it was cheap, and doesn't contain soy lecithin. It's also uninstantized, so it does not mix super well. Honestly I wouldn't not use TN based on my experience as I could very well order a different whey from them, and perhaps be just as happy as the Costco, NOW, etc stuff. But I do have ~6lbs left of this stuff, and likely won't be using it anymore. Oh and fwiw before I did my OG order I emailed them with a few questions, and their CS/Carl was awesome.
