If you scroll down to Lake Minnetonka you can see the junk I get to pick from.

That is the scary part about listing my house for sale.

Only looked at the first couple but that's some raggedy ass houses. Better be a premium location for those prices. Brand new houses around me go for $100 a foot with granite counter tops, solid wood cabinets, solid hardwood floors, ect.

My mom just bought 175 acres that has a 17 acre lake with about 1/4 mile of river front property for about 300 grand.

The property she bought is in a really rural area although nice property.

My property is 140 acres and the parish values it at about 17.5 k an acre. I am still in a rural area (Walmart is about a 30min driver) however it is a nicer area with horse and polo farms around. The area is zoned that property can not be broken down into anything less than 5 acres. So if you have 9 acres and you want to sell just a piece, tough shit, you gotta sell all or non of it.

My neighbors are the likes of the Copeland's, the Hunts (Texas oil Mongols), and The Bensons (N.O. Saints owners), the Freeman's (owned New Orleans coca cola bottling company).

Very nice area with not a lot of Yahoos to deal with.

Where do you go to read up on this car audio hobby or is it all trial and error? Some days I feel like the more I read, the less I know. I guess long gone are the days of just going to the local shop, buying a decent deck, some alright speakers and, some pre-fab bass. The joy of not knowing shit!

Spend ten years in the field. Work with the top manufactures in the field along with people like mark Fukuda, and Brian smchitt. Read and comprehend the actual papers written by Thiele, small, Dickason, weeks, Leach, Vanderkooy, Polk, and Campbell. And still realize, that when you talk to someone like Enrique Stilles for an hour about why never to use a aluminum faraday ring outside a coil and not understand a word he said, that you still don't know but about 1% of what it takes to Truely understand audio.

You guys are going to laugh at me, but I know a guy who works for a local tailor and they regularly give "blemished" clothes to Goodwill.  He calls me when this happens and within 3 day, I am in business.  I have 6 pairs of Thom Browne slacks in my closet that retail for about $800, and I paid a total of $18 for them.  Each pair I have has a small stain on the inside leg cuff that will never be seen.

McMaster Carr.  Ebay is a good source too.

Looks like MC will have what I need.

Sort of funny though.  A gas strut is ~$12 with threaded rod ends.  The eyelet fittings around around $2 each.

If you want to buy the strut with the eyelet fittings installed (mind you it's still threaded rod with eyelet fittings, it just comes with them) then it's ~$38.

WTF ?  Why would someone pay an extra $22 just to have the eyelet fittings pre-installed on the strut ?

Well that's a nice setup.

I got a call from a manager in Germany, they offered me nearly double my current pay. This is WAY over what I expected, so it looks like my daily commute will go up from 10-15 minutes to 35-40 laugh.png

20 people total, 7 in this location, vacation skiing in Austria.

I damn nearly fell of my chair when I heard the number.

Fuckin A bro, congrats!

Definatly sounds like a sweet offer!

Would have been a WHOLE lot easier to just put a disc brake on the driveshaft.

On the transfer case output? I have a slip yoke there so it would have meant adding an sye, new driveshaft plus road legality risks. We have a road worthy check every two years and they look under the car

Should I use brass terminals for soldering wires and connecting speakers? It's for my 10" Neos , I'll be probably running around 75-100 watts on them. I have a bunch of brass terminals and wondering if they will conduct properly or I should get copper terminals for that much power.

The terminals will be attached to a stainless steel bolt.

The terminals (but goldish in color):

similar bolt terminals, just on my doors

Thanks you. I am going to start soldering after I take my breakfast at 1 PM, I've been preparing for the competition whole morning.
