It NEVER gets old.

So as I was getting some stuff in order to hop on a C-17 next week to Afghanistan for a few more months one of the guys I work for comes up to me and tells me "Hey, we are standing up a new XXXX in XXXX country (like $135 a day in extra per-diem!!!) and we need you to engineer/install the complete XXXXX"....  So I am like, Fuck yeah, let me get all my shit together, he is like "good we will leave in 48hrs"...

 

Another guy comes up to me 2 hours later, hey, project project moved, have fun at Bagram (Afghanistan)... 100 feet from where I was originally going, lol...  Some shit...

Oh, in case you haven't figured it out...  I hate Afghanistan...  I have spent almost 2 years of my life there, lol...  Good work, awesome times, but I hate that fucking country...

It doesn't sound like a fun vacation spot, that's for sure.

I'd actually just build a brick oven with a second chamber above for smoking. Would give you the capability to rip pizza's and such on stone, have a permanent "salamander", and as long as you put airtight insulated doors on it a great smoker. A tapered chimney to help the convection would be a plus. As an adder I'd be putting in a natural gas burner as well so I could fire at the flip of a switch for non-smoking applications.

I WILL do this some day for sure as I have the skillz and tools.

Finally got the ok that we are allowed to demo the inside of his house. That should save him roughly 12-15k. The rebuild has to be done by a licensed contractor. I was all ready to rip and tear, but may have to wait up to 30 days to start. Damn insurance company's need to drag their feet on shit like this!

I've broken both pinky toes and my big toe. Cracked the tip off my big toe. Healed with a spur under it and kept rebreaking. Soccer and a toe like that was not good.

My friends dad was an Olympic try out from what I understand. Coached a local college team. And his boys city team in middle and high school.

So I basically had to play. I never played games, just practices. I got to be goalie, and eventhough I was fat and slow I was smart. I also had a 60 yard punt so if they didn't get a goal on me..... They got punished.

Career ender above. Illegal slide tackle from behind is what took out my toe. Tried to play for the next year gimping around avoiding my left foot, but only being able to lay into the ball with the right seriously effed my game. Took two years to heal and then I went to college where there was way more pussy to be had if I didn't have a soccer distraction.
