Seth what can you tell me about Fords ecoboost F150. My FIL has a new 2014 and I want him to use amsoil in it, what are your thoughts?

AMsoil is garbage. Can't tell you how many early failures I've seen running it. It is the scourge of a 2 stroke and when I worked with load cells and setup test benches for oil it sucked ass in 4's as well.

He has been told to use a lucas oil stabilizer when changing his oil.

I have nothing positive to say about lucas anything either.

Any doctors in the house ?

My dairy & whey protein intake has increased substantially the past few weeks, and now I feel like shit all,the time. Stomach pains, gas, increased pooping frequency and I have to urinate every hour. Wondering if I'm lactose intolerant and just never noticed before ? Seems like an odd coincidence if not.

I thought dehydration too, but the frequent urination was kind of a tip that it might be something else.

Unless there was a diuretic effect from something else, but that makes less sense.

Holy shit man.  I can never understand suicide.  Obviously there are mental issues there if you go that route, but it still baffles me to no end.  It's the ultimate act of selfishness IMO.

When she broke up with her high school boyfriend he went all nutso and killed her parents. Her luck in life continued that way. Seriously not fair as she was brilliant and one hell of a person.

Didn't state the quantity of piss either in the frequent. Little blasts regularly can be indicative of lacking in water and it is one of the worst things and strangest that can occur in your body. Up the protein and you need more fluid.

Sounds like we are worse off without her on the planet. If the torment was too much in life at this point, I hope then there is peace now.

I see suicide as just a controlled way to go out. Probably not the healthiest opinion if to a therapist I'm sure.

But if your done with what you wanted to do here, or feel you can, then it's a legitimate way out no matter how selfish it may seem. Control of one's own fate and all that. Not necessarily honorable, but not disgraceful.

Respectfully I will not share my views on suicide here. I maintain my sympathy for her loss.

Can I ask why they failed? Was the oil poorly cleaned?

I am lucky enough to have a friend at LE (http://www.lelubricants.com/index.html) who does oil analysis for me at work. He comes in and picks up our oil samples and sends us the results of our equipment and we either filter it or replace it. (We don't use their oil just their services) We use mobil gear box oils and shell hyd oils all of which are synthetic.

 

 I know there is no best oil for everything out there, but it comes down to how well you can clean it and keep it clean. He has done 2 tests on my 4runner oil and suprising it came back clean enough not to change after one year in the motor. I do change my oil filters every 6 months and oil every year. I have done this since 2007, but never put much over 8k miles a year on it.

Speaking of which the Camry just rolled 20k and is time for fresh oil, filter, and tire rotation.

I just noticed it is 64 out.

No better time than now.

Sure, piston scuffing. Premature wear. I will never buy Amsoil anything again.
