Gotta ask some price info from you guys. Looking for bar pricing here and what you consider to be a fair brand for each one.Well mixed drinkUpper end mixed drinkMid level shotTop shelf shotDraft beerBottle domesticBottle ImportWeekend cover chargeI would like quotes for a 'dive' bar, mid level, and if you visit them higher end bars. The reason this is being asked is because of a business idea that has come up with family. We are seeing a niche that is not being utilized here, that people are willing to drive for, but would not have to if it was local.J

I've paid $60 for a beer, $17, $12, and $10 and under. Beer being something real, ie no ultra mongo macro brew.More as well. Really depends on the location.
Trying to avoid the specialty beers. Looking at staple beers for the average consumer, max 5 specialty beers. Run a 7-12 tap setup with a moderate bottled selection. By moderate I mean under 15.J
In all the cities I cited above that wouldn't fly...It's all relative to where you live. Go visit every extreme and see how busy they are on a Tuesday or what not.

What is the norm there?

We are looking at a good amount of recon, but I know this area has a lot of tourists and a flare of local prices from all over isn't a bad thing for us to have in mind.

We are looking into having music and other events there as well. Trying to avoid 'dive' at all but stay as a mid class bar. No food except maybe SMALL snacky shit.

In my home town any night of the week you can get drunk for $5 if you don't tip.

Nickle shot night?

Making it with no food really makes you reliant on something to get traffic in. Easiest way to do that is cheap drinks, but then you have slim margins.

The business model you define just wouldn't work here at all. Of course, no food and you are closed Sunday here too.

Normally I'd guess is $8 for a 16oz micro.

.25 night, .35 night, 3 for 1 night, all you can drink for $5

All referring to shitto-domestic brew on tap except the 3fer and $5 deal include rail booze. Of course that rail booze is not good eats, it does the job.

Multiple bars compete on the same discount schedule.

We have a large demographic and people will drive for the right environment.

The numbers I was throwing out were a light idea of keeping it simple for arguments sake.

Sorry but what is rail booze? This is a new term by me.

J

Whiskey Coke, Vodka Tonic, Rum & xxx, ie, any booze but this case it is the bars choice. Bottles that hang out in the "rail" right by the soda gun.Usually it is cheap and shitty.

Ahhhh well booze.

Doesn't mean for a short period of time you can break the curve, but keeping it is unusual.

You are potentially biting off A LOT

The main focus would be on the entertainment aspects. Music, wrestling, MMA (which is insanely huge down here), possibly some theatre. The LLC is established and has the connections, just need the building and finance to make something happen.

In 1960 lol

Most bars still call them wells.

How many years do you think this sort of establishment can stay "hot"?

Sounds like a flash in the pan to me, but up here our rednecks are edumacated.

I will say though I started going to the gym same time I quit smoking. Guy asked me what I do to deal with stress now. I hadn't really thought of it this way before, but the gym is an amazing stress reliever. My best workouts have came after a shitty day at work. Nothing quite like taking the pissed off out by thrashing your body good at the gym.

Glad to hear you say that.  :)

Wasted my god damn time this morning.

They took a pint of blood, and then sent me to get an X-Ray. Why? To screen for TB. Fucking seriously? This better be one kind of screw up. A whole visit to radiology (aka charge me to Fuck town on Ass rape train for one little chest snapshot) when they already are sending my blood out. A simple mantoux would be ok.

Never heard of well booze either.

Just well drinks from rail booze.

Worked in a bunch of bars too. Weird.
