How fast you think I can make this boot into Windows with a rippin' SSD. Would run WIndows 8.

Not trying to be a smart ass or anything but the description says: "You can shorten system boot-up time to 2-seconds* for a smoother user experience under Windows 8, and even previous versions of Windows."

So I'd say around 2 seconds. You could probably use the sleep / stand by function to shave off a little more time but more importantly your stuff would still be open from the last time you shut it off.

They say that about their BIOS meaning you may need a faster mobo/pc or the like. That is how I found it first, but Doh.gif

If it power cycles it'll be hard to resume...or it'll kill my battery? Thinking headunit for the Esky...

hibernate would work.

Hibernate on the power being pulled? I'd need some delay circuit?

mp3car is such a fucking fuck show you can't find donkey dick there. Frustrating.

it just writes the current state to harddrive and shuts down. then boots into that state the next time you turn it on.

dont think a delay would be needed.

WOn't hibernate on power off though. ie, pull the power cord...

Has to be some way to trigger that.

seems you can set that kind of functionality with this and maybe settings change in windows.

ignition on - pc boots up, ignition  off - pc hibernates or sleeps or whatever.

Donkey dick is in Tijuana

Sean, after the last played song finishes it continues playing the same playlist that song is in.

Thanks Brendan. I got distracted by penalty kicks and a run to the store.

Awesome. That is perfect. I have too much music to not use playlists...although mine are more don't playlists. Appreciate the input Teo.

You can set it up however you like.

There is also queue that is remembered even if the program is closed. So you can play two favorite songs from one playlist/album and queue up the next thing you want.

I just want some semblance of memory for what I was listening to. I know with "front ends" you can do that, but they are all annoying and Win8 is pretty much a front end on its own. Means I have to use the metro launch screen, but oh well.

Hopefully using a PC in a car will be dialed in by the time I need to use one.

Only a few challenges. GPS & Phone integration. I just determined to have an OBD/Tuner solution I could give up Nav or compromise and f I have to buy a parrot so be it.

Other difficulty is the lack of a real monitor. Finding a 10-12" IPS Capacitive embeddable display isn't exactly easy.

:woot:

Sales meeting this morning and I was peacocking without trying. Some of the old guard managers were sweating a bit hearing I smashed budget again a week before period end. Especially after hearing about the sales yesterday and being the only store in my district to hit budget last month.

Kind of makes a promotion to a bigger store and/or leadership role in the bag.

I need to vacation more if this is how good I feel conning back. My knee is worthless but I don't even care with those kind of numbers.

Woot!

Bummer is that the bottom of the bezel is 7 1/8" top 7 3/4" and a long 9". 10" 16:9 are skinny, 12" are the right width or so and too long and if I do this I want bigger than an 8. One cure is building it out, but this sort of looks like shit IMO.

I haven't yanked the dash yet to really see what is there, but am trying to picture options for 3 gauges and the screen. Once I figure it out I can order some FI.
