I would kill for a bare bones vehicle without the extraneous bull shit.

I just want someone to make an open source CAN bus system that will read and send whatever you want. Eventually the HVAC and everything will be run via computer in the Caddy as I don't want to rely on GM anything. Obviously the main brains will stay and wiring but having access to the rest makes me happy. The German integration of 10000 computers is disheartening.

canbus triple?

the kickstarted ended a recently so they are probably not out in the wild yet.

Speaking of which, I need a new winter coat. And I hate being cold. So I want something SUPER warm at a reasonable price. I was hoping Sean or someone might have a suggestion

For activities where you are making heat and moving or for sitting still?

I'd like something I can use for both. Or a good under layer to wear in addition to the jacket for when I'm sitting. I need something to shovel/work outside in, and something for (for example) sitting in the cold watching my son play football. I can't afford 2 separate jackets unless they are like $100 each.

Dumb ass.

Which one do you want to compromise on?

Really nice shell with vents and then wool.

A wool midlayer is $300 (which is why I wear a synthetic one as I paid $50). A nice shell is $250-400 as well.

And the bummer is that sitting still that still won't be "warm". Quotes because it'd be fine for me down to zero with not a ton of wind, but colder and not so great. I am regularly outside for extended periods of time at sub -15F and need to account for that. In IN you shouldn't have to, but like yourself Matt I am probably ok at -15 with the same gear that Brad would be at 10F.

I have winter coats from the Woolrich days.

My mother was a lead there way back in the 80's and she got good pricing. I still have one of those coats and they are warm.

I'd rather sweat my ass off when working than be cold sitting. Really I don't do much "work" in the winter, just shoveling when it snows. Otherwise it simply needs to keep me from freezing my ass off.

What synthetic is less stinky than wool?

I need this in my life.

None. Not even close. Somehow I either typed wrong or you read that wrong. Thought I said if you weren't stinky...
Ok.

That makes sense.

You didn't get arc teryx???

I thought you went full balls to the walls.

If they came in talls I would have, too short sad.png

No talls!!??!!!!!

Fucking bullshit!

What did you get then? I prefer tall myself and I am only 6'2

How can such a super special brand like that afford to not make talls?

That's a super fail.

That makes sense. I have always just used wool base layer and then old wool sweaters for a mid.

But that is only for sitting still. If I'm moving it was usually a hoodie a t shirt and a shell.

I would just change halfway through the day if I was sweating too hard.

I really need to get a coat of wax on Helga before winter.....

:-(

I have zero time. I hate having someone else detail her. Especially for the first time.

I wish I could Neal!

Clay would help the Bimmer too. I just don't think I will beable to make time before it gets too cold. I suppose I could do the clay and interior myself and just pay someone to wax it. I am horrible at waxing.

The windshield could definitely use some work too.

This is probably a really silly question, but could I use warmer HIDs in my current headlights? These headlights are really amazing, but a little warmer would be nice I think.....

<- Still don't have no motherfucking ID.

Gawd damn.
