October 5, 201410 yr Sean is there anyone local who does a good wax job for winters?http://youtu.be/KP-eAddv2sk
October 5, 201410 yr When did you order it??? It's been a week at least--I didn't get a receipt or email confirmation so I can't check.
October 5, 201410 yr Growing up in NY more often than not I had an EB down winter coat, and a leather jacket for 'nicer' occasions. In FL I don't wear either, but they are nice to have when I go home.J
October 6, 201410 yr Any tricks for getting rid of the white oxidation shit, or just elbow greasing it?
October 6, 201410 yr I would love to do it myself..... I'm fairly certain it is too cold, and I have NO equipment.
October 6, 201410 yr I'm going to need more than a sweater for -15.Sweater and a shell will do it. IF it is a wool sweater.
October 6, 201410 yr Speaking of which, I need a new winter coat. And I hate being cold. So I want something SUPER warm at a reasonable price. I was hoping Sean or someone might have a suggestionFor activities where you are making heat and moving or for sitting still?I'd like something I can use for both. Or a good under layer to wear in addition to the jacket for when I'm sitting. I need something to shovel/work outside in, and something for (for example) sitting in the cold watching my son play football. I can't afford 2 separate jackets unless they are like $100 each.Which one do you want to compromise on? I'd rather sweat my ass off when working than be cold sitting. Really I don't do much "work" in the winter, just shoveling when it snows. Otherwise it simply needs to keep me from freezing my ass off.Down. Problem with down is that it isn't warm wet. If you sweat it won't work. Shoveling would be a problem if afterwards you sat outside for 2 hours.
October 6, 201410 yr You didn't get arc teryx??? I thought you went full balls to the walls. If they came in talls I would have, too short No talls!!??!!!!! Fucking bullshit! What did you get then? I prefer tall myself and I am only 6'2This in black http://www.polaris.com/en-us/snowmobiles/shop/apparel/fxr-for-polaris174-zone-mountain-jacket-keith-curtis-kc711-edition/pid-2864141
October 6, 201410 yr Sean is there anyone local who does a good wax job for winters?I've never paid anyone
October 6, 201410 yr My whole jacket consists of that shell and: Base: http://www.smartwool.com/clothing/baselayers/mens-nts-mid-250-pattern-crew.html Mid layer: http://www.eddiebauer.com/product/expedition-weight-1-4-zip-baselayer/23150129/_/A-ebSku_0310385100000080__23150129_catalog10002_en__US?showProducts=111&backToCat=&previousPage=SRC&tab=&dcolor=100 *obviously the mens which is still out of stock so I can link it. That is ALL I wear when riding at -20F. At that cold I up the ultralight long johns and shell pants to include a zip in insulation layer in my pants. You'll notice, no mid layer. My mid layer is a base layer. Goal was to create one big wicking base to remove sweat as fast as possible. The Arc coats breath 2x as well and would help. My pants are eVent which breath better than the Arc and are sweet. Any shell you find in eVent is seriously worth considering.
October 6, 201410 yr Seth/R2What about Bahco?6950/7150/8850 all use the SO dual 80 ratchet guts and rebuilds (72 on 1/4 obviously). "Made" in Spain for the Euro market. Chrome and shit isn't as pretty, but seems to me a logical compromise in particular when they are about $35 each.
October 6, 201410 yr I didn't realize Bahco made ratchets too, or at least put their name on it. Never had a problem with their other stuff I've used. If they are a good price I'd certainly try the out.
October 6, 201410 yr I put the Bahco name in the not crap generally good stuff category so I'd try them. Even better if the run SO ratchet hardware to me.
October 6, 201410 yr Sean is there anyone local who does a good wax job for winters?I've never paid anyoneDamn.....
October 6, 201410 yr Bought some new headphones today, Sony MDR-10r model, the best of the bunch I found in best buy today that I was willing to pay for. I needed some over ear units since the on ears were killing me with all the listening I've been doing on them and my Senn HD580's have died so I'm out of good units. The vocals seem lacking on 'em and wasn't willing to pay for the ones I liked the best which of course was the mistake driven by my cheap wallet. I will say though, they do an excellent job of sealing out background noise for not even being noise canceling.
October 6, 201410 yr Side by side: *obviously not my pics, but from the thread that led me to think about them
October 6, 201410 yr I would kill for a bare bones vehicle without the extraneous bull shit. I drive a Miata, I was ecstatic when I got the rear defogger working
October 6, 201410 yr I would kill for a bare bones vehicle without the extraneous bull shit. This, the most fun I have driving is in the E30, it may not be the fastestestest car I own but its definitely the most enjoyable I would kill for a bare bones vehicle without the extraneous bull shit. The answer is always Miata.E30 >> Miata NEIN!!!!Never ever ever ever ever. *I hate E30's*
