Songs are made of chord notes and step notes with NO exception. Any other added notes are then scales. Shredding on a scale is non musical, unimpressive, and no matter what eventually boring

Very good point Sean. I was using 'shred' in more of a jargon sense as opposed to the actual definition. I appreciate the explanation and knowledge.

if you can't stop on any non-stop note in a song it shouldn't be played. Guitar players that "shred" rarely even realize that. When they don't I have zero interest in listening to them. Major or mode scales are pointless and should never be studied imo

In your opinion what should be the progress of knowledge for s guitar player?

chords down to the note and it's relative position on the fretboard.

There are a lot of vehicles that will go 200k if you take good care of them.

If you heard me play you'd cry.

I just need to vent: quantum mechanics is not fun.

It is a Toyota, sure it will go 200K plus, but mine will be as close to new as you could possibly find.

I have 3 with over 200,000. 2 Buicks with ~225 apiece, and a 94 Nissan D21 with 360,000.

The truck is remarkable... 3 sets of brakes, 3 tune ups, a clutch at 300K, a starter just a couple months ago, a 10 year old battery, and belts. I spend pennies a year on it, and drive it all the time. It needs paint and a few seals, which it may get shortly, but it is the best vehicle I can recall in my years of fixing cars. It's ridiculous.

Bought a used softball bat that is said to be the hottest ever produced... We need all the help we can get.

I'm sure there's a dirty joke somewhere in there.
