April 11, 201312 yr I'm looking to improve lighting in one of the garages. Currently it has windows above the door, on the entire width of the garage. I'm going to add fluorescent lights on all corners. The ceiling is raw wood, would I gain anything if I covered the ceiling in white, shiny fiberboard?Fuck yes, but I'd just paint it white. It will make a HUGE difference with reflection and make it significantly brighter. Here's the setup...raw lumber, with gaps, on the ceiling. I'd attempt to climb a building before attempting to paint that. For $25 / 5.6 square yards, I'm getting finish like kitchen cabinets made out of particle board, glossy white. I could cover the entire ceiling in an afternoon. I'm pretty much pissed with the light in the garage, it's been like that for a while. Slightly improved when I added a fluorescent lamp over the work table. It was so dark in there I couldn't do anything on the table unless it was bright daylight outside. Enough is enough, I want to organize things, throw out everything I don't need and get some real light in there. The garage where I keep my 6.5" vice is much much better lit, I also spend way more time working there.
April 11, 201312 yr i have to share the fucking mistake i just made with yall, so i went today to apply for a new job. .. i text my boss to let him know i had somthing to take care of today, then after i applied i text him back saying i was done,..... well my chick text me to ask how it went.. and i told her... and when i hit send i noticed that i had actually text it to my boss ... so of course he text back " if your planning to quite give me a heads up" lol/// fuck me! Oops! I've done the same, and even worse. One time I was assigned to a group for filming a short documentary thing, and I was looking at the previous group's art cover for their film, and I said "Oh yeah we can make one way better than this one," and a girl in our group said "I made that." I felt like thee biggest asshole to walk this earth. Just bringing that up makes me cringe. I have 2 or 3 stories like that, happened way too long ago but I still feel like an asshole for saying what I said.
April 11, 201312 yr I got the rotors today and so far so good: clearance from caliper to wheel mounting surface is 1/4", lots of clearance around the axle flange, it even clears the ABS sensor and by my rough fit in the wheel it clears the wheel too. All those late nights spent looking for rotor and caliper combinations seem to have payed off.
April 11, 201312 yr After 6 years in storage I finally have time to build a new table for grandma's 60 year old sewing machine. I'm going to copy the old table and build it in Baltic Birch:
April 12, 201312 yr Short and skinny my service agreement is up (bad blood about that too) on my 2011 tundra. I refuse to pay their prices for simple shit. What should I need done at 30k and afterwards? I know often dealers want to do extra stuff just to pad their pockets.
April 12, 201312 yr Oh, and if you think the Toyota dealership prices are rough. An oil change on my car at Benz is $280.

I went to the local Benz dealership for some fancy transmission oil that no one else seemed to carry, and surprisingly they were just about the same price as Amazon.

I could have someone else do it, but don't really want any gray area's of response if something catastrophic happens. Considering I drive it like I stole it something may.
