April 30, 201312 yr I really need to control my temper when doing things I am not adept at and are the wrong shape. I have taken so many breaks just because I am getting pissed.Truly, never going to do car work without beer or cider again.so i take it you enjoyed tearingthat 5.4 apart huh? i did too. ford really didnt think about the mechanic wyen they designed that setupThat and I am incompetent for the task. And my hands are neither small nor agile.
April 30, 201312 yr Anyone have a good link on how to take the fuel rail off the drivers side expedition 5.4 2 v.
April 30, 201312 yr Seth/Ryan, I was waching some videos, and I saw a guy use grease in the connection between the COP and the wires running to them.Is that a good practice, would it really stop any moisture? . Dielectric. It helps, just don't load the connectors down, you only need a little. Would be funny to swap someone's wallpaper with this: http://fc09.deviantart.net/fs71/i/2010/236/8/5/emam_khamenei__1_by_time_of_new_moon.jpgSince you're the dark one with the scruffy beard, what the hell does that say.You got me. I must be a terrorist. I knew it!!!Hey I remember your jihadist ak-47 alah alah alah pic. I knew you would like that...
April 30, 201312 yr Anyone have a good link on how to take the fuel rail off the drivers side expedition 5.4 2 v. Just remove the bolts on that side and lift it, don't yank the entire rail. Pull the injectors with the rest of the rail in place. Use vasoline on the injector o-rings, it will slip into the intake better.
April 30, 201312 yr O rings are stuck in the rail and not making a seal on at least the injector closest to the bumper.I cannot get the oring out with it on the vehicle.

The modular engines are easy as shit to work on. My only gripe is the timing cover.
April 30, 201312 yr The plot in porn is shitty......they need to invest a little in the acting. JYou are looking for a job aren't you? Fix it More seriously, government work would be a good target for you.
April 30, 201312 yr It should go on with minimal effort. Did you bend the rail perhaps? The o ring on the injector nearest the bumper is stuck inside the fuel rail I believe, that or it is gone completely. I'm going to try to use a dental mirror to confirm, but it feels like there is a rubbery squish when I try to put the rail down on the injector. Last time I took it off it slid back on like cupcakes. I can't get the rail to mate with the injector. It feels like it has a solid connection, but gas just sprays out. I tried petroleum jelly and wd 40 to maybe ease the injector into the o ring while inside the rail. No luck.Maybe I will get my first bit of good luck and the O ring will just be MIA and I can grab one from the store and not worry about removal from the rail. The last attempt of the night/morning had the rail seated deeper than ever but it still just shot out fuel, so perhaps it got washed out.As much of a pain all this has been for me, I don't think I have ever learned so much intangible info on working on a vehicle. Ruined the fuck out of my manicure though.Oh and thank you guys for reminding me to blow out the holes before pulling the plugs. WTF, one of the holes on the drivers side was stuffed with dried out coolant powder. Ultra nasty.

Fix it More seriously, government work would be a good target for you.Government or places that get gov money. GE is a great vet place. My navy budy worked with me for 6 years in HR for the hospital and it killed us both. He was a hull tech and now just got a job with what it sounds like the only company to be doing a plastic to diesel conversion that is effective. His history with the mil is so helpful for them. They know he will work, and for him to get in at the ground level means huge future. No matter what you will figure it out J. You are a smart guy and even more important you can talk to people. That is a rare commodity.

April 30, 201312 yr 2 hours of sleep... ungh. Had to drive the wife to work so I could mail some things that need to go out and get to the bank. Then back under the hood. My shoulders are killing me. At least being a shitty mechanic means I get a good work out.
April 30, 201312 yr I got to the bank 10 min early and sat in my car until it opened. I parked next to the door, which I almost never do. Well 3 people came and started standing by the door. No biggie I wanted to relax in the car.At 9 I roll up the window and I shit you not 15+ people had parked behind me and were going in. This isn't some big bank... just a little credit union. How the hell are there 20 people in this area who all needed to see a teller face to face and not the drive through that opened an hour ago on a Tuesday morning? Crazy. I understand that I was part of it, but I would never have guessed there were so many other people. So rather than fight the lines, I just decided to take an epic dumperoo in their john.

Not even liquor or fast food.

Use a pick to fish it out... barring use of a pick, angle a wire coathanger to reach into the rail and fish it out.
