Hassle is about 15 minutes of bolting things together.  Used and PCs haven't been kind to people I know...

Has a great case, power supply and so on so the barebones would be fine.  Understanding which is what on the other hand is not.

Mobo, cpu, ram, $130 after rebate.

Not sure why you want an ssd. I've never used any so no input as to type or brand.

Onboard video should suffice, so video card isn't needed.

Is it worth going to $220 over the $130?

I may have made terrible choices.  No idea.

Looked for the last platform of AMD chip in Quad format in the cheapest derivation.  ASUS Mboard with USB3/SataIII, and cheap ram with a brand i recognized.

No Sean is right. It is a cop out.

Its the accessability of it. When you cannot leave due to a meeting starting in 10 minutes and that sweet cafeine is calling your name, it's what keeps your ass awake in 95*+ offices while doing death by powerpoint for 2 hours with no breaks.

Hopefully the new job will allow for some flexability with time, and will allow for a better diet and exercise too.

I get it, today was the first in a while that I didn't grab a sugar free rock star midday and that was because I left work early due to a bad pain in the neck....

I am CRUSHING goals today. Made up for the huge loss the last few.

And my LQ store got in some Woodford double oak for me that I ordered. Boomshakalaka

I know it's a long shot but of you can get some Garrison Brothers from Texas.... Yum. Expensive but damn I did a tour there and it is soooooooooo good. Ruined me for other whiskey. Though I'd say the double Oaked is damn good stuff (only have regular woodford here and it doesn't compare).

I would say you would be getting into the area of diminishing returns. The first links would already be plenty, and even over the next few years as programs demand more resources it would still be plenty. If he was shooting raw files (lol), editing in photoshop, playing video games, rendering cad files, editing large video files, etc than I would say the extra hundred bucks is probably worth it.

I need to work on my cricket catching skills.  Those fuckers are elusive!

Offbrand memory, and MSI generally makes cheaper mobos. No idea on reliability.

Look into AsRock, they were a part of Asus then split, but the quality and the price is crazy.

My Current rig consists of

Intel i7 3970k

AsRock Extrene 6

Evga GTX-680

Samsung 128GB Pro SSD

8 GB of Corsair Dominator Ram.

I'm trying to get a student account at Microsoft, if it goes through I can get Windows 8 for you for free.

All that just for porn?

do not hang yourself

Fucker wouldn't hold my weight even if I tried

I can't tell a difference on that shit.  Anything with that much alcohol just tastes like alcohol to me.  That's the only thing I can taste, so to my tongue, it's all the same.

a little cold water to dilute helps cut the alcohol smell/taste, allowing the other aromas and flavors to come through

Must be nice. I'm rocking ancient shit, but the only time it's slow is when I use sony vegas (which is rare). Hell most of the time I'm only using "notepad," terminals, and browser.

....sweet. 3"x6" hole in my foundation + ultra downpour = many inches of water in my basement.

Epic.
