I would, but that doesn't mean you will like it. I don't use a mouse for anything and Win8 is snappier across the board for that and easier to negotiate with a keyboard. I really don't use the Win8 stuff at all though. The metro apps are so slow they are pointless.

I'll definitely use a mouse. And play some action intensive games.

Anyone ever use the Microsoft Surface tablets? I'm thinking about getting one for taking notes specifically with a pen. Looks like the pro models offer a surface pen that isn't capacitive based so the detail is a lot better, and lets you rest your hand on the tablet when writing?

You'd have to get the Pro model, its the only one made for that.  I've got an RT version and I love it but I don't need/want to write notes on it with a pen.

Definitive answers ftw! Thanks. Sucks the batteries aren't replaceable from what I've read, makes me a little leery about buying a used model.

Windows 8/8.1 has mouse issues in some games. They released a hotfix but it isn't completely fixed across all games from what I've gathered, so look into that depending on what games you play.

Other then that there isn't any advantage or disadvantage to using win 8 vs 7 for gaming, both support the same architecture.

I haven't had a single issue with mine yet, had it for ~1yr so far.  Bought it back before they dropped the prices on them substantially.  :(

Since when, wow. I asked a Win8 specialist at Best Buy maybe 3 weeks ago and he said no.

i dont think its an official app so he probably didnt know about it.

i dont know anything about it really. thought it was strange that they dont have google maps... are they trying to use bing maps or something?

Looks sweet. I wouldn't mind making one for myself or as a gift but I'd have to work on my carpentry skills a bit.

Same tactic as Apple and their Apple Maps I suppose.

I wouldn't move to 8 for gaming. At least not yet. But it depends on how hard you are pushing your system. 8 has some small problems with games now, compared to when it released.

8 will use less system resources, but dat about it as for reasons to use it.

The pragmatic approach is to look at what the top machine builders are using, and that is mostly 7. More stable? I don't know, but they guys trying to squeeze the most from their machines use 7 last I checked.

8 is a billion times better since launch for games, but I'm not switching yet.

And fuck you coolermaster. My shit has been out of order for MONTHS.

Those sons of Bitches need to hustle.

So my uncle is a house builder and he has offered to help expand our upstairs bathroom when he comes to visit in May!

I'm stoked because the house is technically a 4 bedroom (Master down, 3 up) with only 1.5 bath for the house. It's not something we will use (though our guest will) but I can't imagine something like that wouldn't REALLY help the value of the house.

Put an offer on a new house today. Was low as shit but I'm a cheap fucker.won't hurt my feelings if the tear it up. It's the only house we saw in our budget worth offering on.

So what does $200 get you these days...

Made a 4 hour road trip and gave him an extra $50 to meet me almost half way. So that comes to $125 per sub and these are as close to being new as you can get. All coils meter very nicely.

I'm jelly!!!

One of those deals you can't pass and gave me something to do on a Sunday afternoon.

Sweet! Who makes those subs?

;-)

Super double top secret. ;)

I was ready to email the guy and ask if he'd ship.  Had you not jumped on it, I would have.

I asked him, but he did not want to. That was why I offered him the money to meet me half way.

It snowed the entire trip and the wife came along. I love driving in the snow she hates it, but the cruise was set at 75 and I told her to watch a movie or play in her phone.

I don't get it. It would make me buy one of their products as windows in the dash would rock, but shitty nav no thanks.
