Mom got her a '69 camaro the other week as a toy/project

Just a base model 307, holley carb, edelbrock aluminum intake, all new exhaust minus the manifolds, 10 bolt rear end, muncie 4 speed. Plans are to do a LS swap, disc conversion, possibly a/c and restore it little by little.

Let me know when you're ready for some a/c and engine accessory brackets for that LS swap. I might be able to help. Sweet project.

Both sides the coils had snapped one coil off and was just laying the lower control arm......and those shocks.......holy crap. Travway shocks, a quick google search informed me that k-mart carried them back in 1979......I compressed them yesterday when I took them off and they are still compressed. Front end is pretty much stripped clean, I have one lower control arm bolt that is giving me hell but tomorrow it will be out one way or another.

went ahead and dropped the control arms off to be blasted and coated and new bushings/ball joints pressed in. Went ahead and wire wheeled the frame and put some rustoleum on it, used the rust primer then regular flat protective enamel.

Hell yeah!

I'm about to place my order for some new moog coils, hotchkis shocks and some drop-in multi leaf springs for a mono perch along with new shackles, pads and u-bolts.

Today I removed the booster/master cylinder and some of the brake lines, going to try and get to the rear end tomorrow if the weather is nice. Probably put the rear on jack stands and remove the whole axle and try to disassemble/assemble it in the garage and just slide it back up there to only hook up the lines and that's it.

Had a bit of trouble trying to remove the shackles off this old car, so my neighbor came over and helped me slide the rear end out across the leafs. Trying to avoid having to drop the tank and cut off the shackles as much as I can.

i think it has 3.08 which is fine, just means high speeds, lol and traction. Going to be doing a LS swap in it later on and it will for sure need as much traction as it can get.

removed the gas tank, grinded the heads off of the spring brackets and shackles and torched the bolts too and voila! two broken leaf springs were found. then I had to spend a hour or two trying to get the leaf spring eye bolts out of the brackets and remove the shackle bushings from the frame. i have all the old brake hard lines out and am about to start installing the new booster/master cylinder and hard lines then do the front suspension.

tried pulling the rear end apart to pull the axles and remove the drum backing plates and the bolt that holds the centering pin in place snapped in half, so i tried to remove it with an extractor and it broke too. went ahead and dropped it off at pyle bros and they said they should be able to get it out and chase the threads to make sure it's good and i'll have it back soon.

in the meantime, i went ahead and put the new hardlines in up front and hope to do the rear tomorrow, along with installing the new booster/master cylinder.

You should throw an air ride suspension under it and I suppose your going with the LS motor for better fuel mileage over a carberated motor.
