Posted February 24, 201312 yr Im designing my wall for two 18 zcons. Going in an 87 dodge colt lol will have them wired to .7 on an audioque 3500.1. upgrading to a 5k or 7k in near future so keep that in mind.so far i figure I will have 14 ft3 for my subs after all displacements. so 7 cubes eachMy port will be 197 sq in tuned to 34. will be 5.5" x 35 3/4"roughly 14 sq in per foot. Am i building the box too big? since i plan on upgrading to bigger power should i go smaller? also give opinions on port size and tuning.or do i stop asking questions and just get it done and find out lol
February 24, 201312 yr sounds good to me. With that much port and large volume, and power, I'm willing to bet its going to play some low shit really loud lol
February 24, 201312 yr not too large at all.. infact its pretty much dead on with optimal ported specs
February 25, 201312 yr sounds good to me. Never heard of a dodge colt till now lol funny looking car.
February 25, 201312 yr Author yea its been the cheapest part of the build so far lol. but it should get loud in there. I got materials today, start building tomorrow after work. already have everything prepped, just need to build the box, slide it in place, and seal it off.
February 27, 201312 yr Author Central Minnesota. but new question, somebody just offered to buy my aq3500.1 and there is a ia 40.1 nearby thats for sale, that ive had my eye on. wondering if that would be a good matchup, or if i should just stick with my plans to get a 7k amp. thinkin a stetsom 7k
March 1, 201312 yr Maybe Go a little bit bigger on the port area. get them about 280^2 in of port total. thats why my XCONS are gettin in their ported box 2 18" xcons.
