Posted March 6, 201312 yr Sean told me to do a log here....Im easyEquipment list....Pioneer P99CDT ES632i activeIA Flatlyne 12" Front firing T LineZed LeviathanZed Minotaur (when Steve is done with one)Shok everything...Ref Elite 1/0, FW 12 and 16ga, Ref 4 and 8ga, FLO RCAs and some misc.Second Skin Damp Pro, Overkill Pro, and Luxury Liner Pro.All of my cable management will be of Boeing standard practices and no zip ties will be used in the system wiring. Im coming up with ideas to further the Boeing theme by getting as much aluminum trinkets that I can from Toolmakerz. I also have to go out to a scrap 747 and shop around for an amp rack.Ill get pics as to how far I am here shortly...
March 6, 201312 yr Author Im kind of bouncing all over the place with the whole thing. The idea is a mid and tweet combo in a dash/pillar pod approach but the sail panel is looking tempting too.I did a quick arts and crafts approach to pods. They are in the grey area of recommended volume so Im happy with them this far anyway.I had Toolmaker do the rings for me. My calipers jive with his equipment so thats a plus when .001s travel that far lol
March 6, 201312 yr Author Im no longer doing a deadener chase.....Second Skin is my one stop and shop for sure.
March 6, 201312 yr Author Ill be getting the GoPro out for better pics but I did start the trunk. Not much left to do really.
March 6, 201312 yr Author The deadening will happen as I remove things. Roof is next cuz the C Pillar panels are already out anyway.
March 6, 201312 yr What is wrong with using zip ties? I thought about use pods for my mid and tweets too. I even went out and bought the foam balls. Possibly defraction can be tamed easy this way but I could not mount them in my vehicle in an aesthetically pleasing way. I am anxious to see how yours turn out.
March 6, 201312 yr Author Nothing. I build turbine engines and our Avionics dept doesnt use zip ties so Im rolling that into my build. Some will recognize this practice. Im working with Toolmaker on mounting hardware. Im more function over fashion and they arent too obstrusive just setting them up on the dash so I will roll with it.
March 7, 201312 yr Gotcha. I am the final inspector for a company that makes jet turbine parts - cases and liners.
March 7, 201312 yr Author probably gonna start Big 3 and replace some factory wiring to make things neater at the batt
March 8, 201312 yr I'm currently ( been for the past year) collecting equipment for my 2011 Malibu. Not a ton of build logs on these. I may have missed it but do you plan on an aftermarket alternator? I bought a 250xp dc power alt and haven't even installed it yet. Think I read somewhere these cars have a problem keeping voltage up because of some fuel economy feature the car has.. May be way off lol. Well see. I'm for sure tuned in on this one
March 8, 201312 yr Author This issue wears me out but I did a lot of digging. Most of that work I posted in this link. Nothing Bu specific but Im still on the case.I read DC had this down but at a cost....dont quote me I really dug around.... http://www.chevymalibuforum.com/forums/showthread.php?t=12105&page=2
March 8, 201312 yr Author I gathered that it effects voltage and not current so the regulation is the bugger in this.
March 8, 201312 yr The cobalt I used to own had that same issue, really frustrating. Last GM product I will ever own.
