Posted March 14, 201312 yr I've been in the market for a new head unit with a screen. I can't get a double din so i would have to get a flip out. Multiple have people have told me to not get a flip out because of my subs. They said subs will greatly damage them. Any truth to this?
March 14, 201312 yr Sounds plausible if your subs are loud enough, they could rattle the flip out part of the deck enough that the connections fail.
March 14, 201312 yr Author i'm running sa15s on a saz2500d so they get decently loud but if i'm gonna spend over 300 i don't think i want to risk not being able to use it long. I wish i could fit a double din in my suv
March 14, 201312 yr Lol, I think they are blowing smoke up your ass. Most flip out screens fail due to the motors giving out from normal use. I have never seen one fail from bass, but that's just in my experience.
March 14, 201312 yr it would make sense that if your hittin some deebeezthe constant shaking of the monitor would weaken the supports quickbut if those supports are made of steel instead of plastic (like a cheap h/u)you should be fine for years
March 14, 201312 yr yeah the monitors shake with loud bass and wears them out even faster. but ive seen plenty of double din head units around? im not saying theyre good quality ones but theyre out there.
March 14, 201312 yr Author I really wish i could get a double din because i like the looks of those wayyy better
March 14, 201312 yr i ran a flip out for 2 years with 2 bl 15s on a saz 3000d i never had an issue thats cause your not loud. jk.
