Posted March 15, 201312 yr Popular Post so i had a small issue with my sundown NS-1 i contacted chris at DB-r using his web page, it has a very nice chat log tool that issues you a service number, and then keeps track of everything said and your info and service number, chris responded very quickly, and was very helpful and gave a quote to repair my amp... on a SUNDAY!, then at sunday at 9pm he was still responding to my messeges .. great! monday morning i sent my amp off. he recived it tuesday and he let me know it arived, and told me to give him two weeks ... so i did. three weeks late i emailed him to check the status and he informed me he was just getting on to email me,. and that my issues were bigger then i first thought,. tunrs out i had some mosfets not working, i was thrown back at first because i sent it in for a RCA jack problem, and not a playablity issue...... he understood and explained to me what exactly the new issue was, and also took detailed pictures of my failure areas and sent them to me. after understanding that i needed to have more indepth work done, he then gave me a few options, 1 to fix it correctly and the most expensive way. he also gave me a second option.. to save me money he would repair it with out removing the board ( extra labor) and it would be WAY cheaper but he could not promise there would be no other issues, but that it would prolly be just fine... i opted to repair the amp correctly , he repaired it quickly and shipped it back to me with the quickness,. from when i sent it off to when i have it back in my hands it has been less then a month... and i am very pleased. all and all im glad that DB-r is around, and i will always use them in the future. and i hope you do to.
March 15, 201312 yr Good news. I like good news! It's a lot better than "I sent my amp and such and such said it got kidnapped by fedex at the doorstep when i shipped it with ups"
March 15, 201312 yr He was very helpfull when I bought an saz3000 from him a few years ago. I was very satisfied with the service and the product. the amp still works fine on 2 Fi bl 12s ! But I think he does not ship to my country now. Some of my friend tried to buy some amps from him lately. On another forum I've read horrible things about him because of a thing called dd-1 !!!
March 15, 201312 yr very knowledgeable guys over there. they are the only ones i would trust to repair my amps.
March 15, 201312 yr very knowledgeable guys over there. they are the only ones i would trust to repair my amps. I agree but even they wont touch stetsom amps anymore.
March 15, 201312 yr i dont see what the DD1 has to do with DB-rHe used to say that in quite a few cases a amp blew because a DD-1 was used.
March 15, 201312 yr To chime in on this thread. DB-RI think mouse did my repairs.I sent in my Stesom and got it back within a couple of months. Under warranty so it was for the free at that. I also sent him my Atomic amp, which had been collecting dust, as it would cut on and suck major current, dam near like pressing all 4 window buttons at 1 time.Anyway, apparently the driver card was bad, So he had to get it from atomic, which they coincidentally ran out of, so i guess they eventually sent him one.Still didn't work, so he had to send it to another repair shop lol ,which charged him like 250$, i was like man this is gonna be an arm and a leg now.But it actually wasn't over 300$ for me. Now it did take about a yr for all of this to happen, but i told him i was in no rush as I wasn't going to use it any time soon. Its still sitting in the box right now as a matter of fact. Long winded, but I agree id rather pay for good service and repairs than a band-aid fix
