Is the sub in the trunk? Is it sealed off from the cabin? Did you check the wiring with a dmm to make sure you have the proper ohms?

    Yes - my sub is in the trunk, which is sealed off from the cabin.

     

    I've got a DMM, but how exactly would I test the wiring? Just connect the DMM to the amp? or to the speaker wire itself?

    Check the speaker to make sure the final load is 2 ohms.
