Posted April 1, 201312 yr My alt charges at 14.4 Have a batt bank, and stays above 13v whith hard bass hits. After a while my subs loose "thump" I still have some bass I'll turn the volume down and it comesright back. I have my gain set to 7 at 28 volts well below max output.Brand new T1000-4ad running two P3's. Edited April 1, 201312 yr by Cant Get Enough
April 2, 201312 yr I have hardly anything to go off of here... Do you use the factory stereo? Do you use any external processors? Do you use aftermarket or a rockford gain control up front?
April 2, 201312 yr Author I used a sine wave at 60 hz to set the gain on amp.Head unit deh-p7200hd 4volt output to amp with monster rca's
April 2, 201312 yr Author I actually upgraded from the T6002 so I could lower the gain and have less stress on the amp
April 2, 201312 yr I would guess the amp is just losing voltage, thats all. Which is normal because you said it happens after a while. For example, in my vehicle, after about 80 seconds full tilt, my voltage will drop from 14.1 to 13.2 and I can hear a lost in volume. I doubt there is anything "wrong" in your case though.
April 4, 201312 yr I'm also very curious as to why get a 4 channel to push your subs, especially such an expensive one.
April 5, 201312 yr Author I've been installing my own systems since 1992. PPI and Rockford were my favoritesso I've stuck with them and class ab were all we had but when class d came out with higher wattage I tried them and thought the sound was awful muffled and woofy. So I never used class d again until Rockford came out with class ad that was supposedto be as clean as class ab so I swapped out my T6002 ab for the T10004-ad to utilize th e full potential of my P3's and they were definately clean but Rockford doesn'tmake a 2 channel version so I'm stuck using a 4 channel. I guess manufacturers don't think someone would ever want a clean sounding 2 channel amp with enough power going to subs Edited April 5, 201312 yr by Cant Get Enough
April 5, 201312 yr Author I know people will say you can't here the difference but I can andeven though you probably cant hear the audible distortion and mehaving a background in studio recording there is definately a loss in transparency "hearing through the bass"
April 5, 201312 yr Author What ohm load is the amp at?2 ohmsWhat ohm load is the amp at? Check the fuse from the front to the back batteries.amps are hooked to the back batts and they're still charging
April 8, 201312 yr Author I solved my loss of bass problem. When I was doing routine connectioncleaning I found that my ground to body from sub amp had almost pulled completelyout of the crimp connector and didn't notice it under the shrink wrap. Yeeaahhhh!!!
April 8, 201312 yr I know people will say you can't here the difference but I can and even though you probably cant hear the audible distortion and me having a background in studio recording there is definately a loss in transparency "hearing through the bass"Just an FYI, try it with a newer amp on a sub and you most definitely will change your mind.

So that's all it took to cure you of your bias against class D, a marketing phrase that caught your attention? If the frequency response, noise and the distortion of both amps is within inaudible tolerances....then the class D is every bit as "clean" as the class A/B....and there are hundreds of class D amps on the market that meet that criteria. Studio background has nothing to do with it.
April 10, 201312 yr Author It's actually a front stage amp. Not intended for subs. Why do people useonly ab for door speakers?
April 10, 201312 yr It's actually a front stage amp. Not intended for subs. Why do people useonly ab for door speakers?ive seen people use full range class D in their front stage with success
April 11, 201312 yr It's actually a front stage amp. Not intended for subs. Why do people useonly ab for door speakers? They don't. Class D and GH, for example, are regularly used.
April 11, 201312 yr I do believe my Class D ZED Leviathan III plays quite well and lovely if I don't say so myself.
April 11, 201312 yr I've got class d on my fronts and am old too. Probably as picky if not the pickiest on the site too
