do they like larger than 2.75 or should i keep it there?

 

I think a 3.0ft^3 enclosure would be what you should aim for to account for the XCONs 0.17 cu.ft displacement. If you choose to double baffle or add bracing, that would lower the volume as well. In the end you should have close to the recommended size enclosure.

Mine are in 2.5 net each and sound excellent. 

i would accommodate for displacement and port walls obviously.. im just asking if theyd like a bigger box closer to 3.5 or so?

No I would not go that big. SSA recommends an accurate range.
