I will be using car audio amps in my garage. No more than a 40a draw. Will this type of power supply work for what I will be using it for? I do not want a noisy power supply introducing distortion.

Before it is mentioned I do not want to use a regular home audio amp.

you will  need batteries for a reserve,   i have done this a few times, even built a few sound rooms for audio companies this way.. i have learned alot the hard way.

That looks like a Meanwell.  You have to make your own AC power cord for those.

also, look at the required AC voltage to so you know which phase to wire to.

I run a sundown 100.2 on just a 20a power supply.

I didn't need all the power so i used an ammeter to set current output to not exceed power supply's capability.

Pulling more than 6A from the sundown amp, things start to move and eventually fall off the shelves so i keep it turned down.

No problem with making the cord. I should have asked if this will introduce distortion in the amp?

you may not need to if you plan to keep it at a low volume , but if your going to be listing to it loud  or moderately loud for long terms then you will, other wise it will cook the power supply ..im assuming you will be running a sub ?

i learned that the hard way,

How many amplifiers are you running?

If you were running two amps, for example, you might be able purchase THIS and THIS which combined is 46A but only $100, 20% cheaper than the one you linked.

Good thing about PE also is if you wire them up and run into noise issues, you should be able to return them pretty easily.  And their tech support is awesome, if you wanted to call & discuss the supplies with them.

i learned that the hard way,

Two book shelf speakers (8 ohm) and a sub  (4 ohm). I am not running a lot of power but may come close to a 40a draw. I will be using two amps. Would using two power supply's be ok instead of having batteries as well?
