BL making a scratchy noise

My BL just stared making the noise yesterday, the sub is hooked up to a MTX TA81001. The gain is set at little over half. I really hope the voice coil is not going out.

Was there a new song that was played? Might of had a lot of distortion.

Ok checked the voice coils they read 1.6 ohms and its a 2 ohm DVC. Only problem is dont remember what they read when I got them.

Thats normal for that coil.

Ok with that confirmed, I'm thinking it maybe my amp. Luckily I have another one to see if my theory is correct.

Does it make the noise if you just push down on the cone?

The 1.6 ohms is the Direct Current Resistance (DCR), the impedance is 2 ohms.
