Posted June 13, 201312 yr So I think this has been asked before but I'm not sure my search worked well enough just found 4sale stuff with it mentioned... My Xcon was in extra awesome condition.... Found out that today my father was moving stuff in their garage and boom he calls me to say he thinks he hit it with a piece of plywood he was moving ... There is now a puncture/tear about 1/3 of an inch maybe less.... What can I use to fix it/glue it? I know I don't want to "melt" the surround material with normal glue but what should I be using? The subwoofer won't see any action for a while so cure time is no issue..... Let me know.. Sad that this fcking subwoofer was sitting in that garage 8-9 months or more with no issues... he moved the box from the original corner I had it in which didn't expose the subwoofer to anything but a wall AND I put wooden blocks at the base to keep it from touching the wall .... FML!!!!! Thanks for any and all help fellas!!!
June 13, 201312 yr Author THanks for quick replies.... I kinda wanna murder someone now so it is making me feel better to know I can fix with these... Amazing goop. Goop, E6000, Shoe Goo..
June 13, 201312 yr Author Also, should I try to "spread" the tear a little to make sure glue gets in the tear?
June 13, 201312 yr Author I didn't mean pull it apart.... put yea I'll take out the subwoofer and see if it even punctured all the way through, couldn't tell ... Just patch the front and back, I wouldn't risk making it worse. It should fill in the tear just fine without having to spread it open.
June 13, 201312 yr that e6000 is some good stuff, just used it for my recones. hate the metal tube though because it will eventually get a hole in it lol

July 17, 201312 yr Shogen or anyone else, what is the surround made of?I ask because I have an old eclipse with, I believe, a polyether surround that has some tears in it.I have some Shoe Goo, should I try it and how long do these repairs typically last? Haven't been on in a while. What happened to the spell checker?
July 19, 201312 yr Author soooo... the puncture never went through the surround.... it was a surface "wound" ... lol.... still put the glue in the scratch
July 19, 201312 yr Just put some on the front tear and behind it. Let it dry over night or a couple of days if your worried. AMAZING GOOPED my 18zcon 8months later solid as a rock! Edited July 19, 201312 yr by Dictator
