So I think this has been asked before but I'm not sure my search worked well enough just found 4sale stuff with it mentioned...

My Xcon was in extra awesome condition.... Found out that today my father was moving stuff in their garage and boom he calls me to say he thinks he hit it with a piece of plywood he was moving ...

There is now a puncture/tear about 1/3 of an inch maybe less.... What can I use to fix it/glue it? I know I don't want to "melt" the surround material with normal glue but what should I be using? The subwoofer won't see any action for a while so cure time is no issue..... Let me know..

Sad that this fcking subwoofer was sitting in that garage 8-9 months or more with no issues... he moved the box from the original corner I had it in which didn't expose the subwoofer to anything but a wall AND I put wooden blocks at the base to keep it from touching the wall .... FML!!!!!

Thanks for any and all help fellas!!!

Also, should I try to "spread" the tear a little to make sure glue gets in the tear?

Just patch the front and back, I wouldn't risk making it worse.

It should fill in the tear just fine without having to spread it open.

I didn't mean pull it apart.... put yea I'll take out the subwoofer and see if it even punctured all the way through, couldn't tell ...

Shogen or anyone else, what is the surround made of?

I ask because I have an old eclipse with, I believe, a polyether surround that has some tears in it.

I have some Shoe Goo, should I try it and how long do these repairs typically last?

Haven't been on in a while. What happened to the spell checker?

soooo... the puncture never went through the surround.... it was a surface "wound" ... lol.... still put the glue in the scratch

Just put some on the front tear and behind it. Let it dry over night or a couple of days if your worried.

AMAZING GOOPED my 18zcon 8months later solid as a rock!
