Posted April 19, 200619 yr Pics of the Eclipse when it gets here (thanks Mrray)but for now, my newest addition to the hat collection (i actually am a John Deere Lover) and the 1/2din EQ (thanks tirefryr)Just wondering what the two switches on the top are for.
April 19, 200619 yr Crap, I forgot about making a label for those. The one on the left, while you're looking at the front, is the sub mono/stereo swith. Up is mono, down is stereo. The one on the right I have no idea what the settings are as it was never marked, but I do know it is a highpass crossover setting.
April 20, 200619 yr Deere > *<{POST_SNAPBACK}>John Deere is like the JL Audio of tractors. Big money for a quality product, but not a terribly good value. Especially considering what they want for implements...highway robbery at best.
April 20, 200619 yr Author Stock HU is in it now with a LOC Mrray's Eclipse 3434 will be here on friday, ill probably installing all this next week. I'd like to have m new mids by prom but that aint gonna happen so ill just have to stick with what i got.Funny thing, kinda random, Amanda managed to blow her 6.5's already. I told her "Dont EVER go over 50, i know the HU will go to 65 but i dont want you to go over 50. If the speakers start sounding funky on low beats of from distortion turn it down." well, 55w and prolonged distorted low bass from one of her CD's and the coil, especially on the driver's side, is starting to unravle and the wire is partially burnt because the mids arent moving as far or getting as loud (higher resistance). Which leads me to belive these HWS stuff is overrated because that amp could only produce 110w completely clipped assueming a true 4ohm load and that her alternator was charging at 14.4v and supporting the current. They where rated for 80w RMS i do belive. The gains are set by ear and checked with a multimeter. Oh well, she still has music, SQ just got killed, she is asking her dad for money for new speakers. I may go ahead and upgrade her to a cheap CDT 2 way componet set. mount the tweeters on the dash to raise the sound stage some.
April 20, 200619 yr Author John Deere is the Adire Audio of the tractor business. Yeah they cost alot of moneyBut they have really great longevity AND you dont have to use all of their power to get the job done. Ive driven Deere's as small as an 18horse lawn mower to my papa's little inline 4 Diesle to a dual tired 10.0l I-6. And the saying is true, nothing runs like a deere.
April 20, 200619 yr We've got John Deere outa the ass, course it helps that we farm 3000+ acres. It serves us well, takes all of our abuse, but DAMN green parts are EXPENSIVE. It also helps that we fix Everything ourselves, just got to buy the damn parts...We have 2 semi tractors3 Trailers ~10 John Deere Tractors2 BIG construction loaders (T-REX's)1 John Deere ScraperPlus ALOT of other pieces of equipment, and I mean ALOT.
April 20, 200619 yr http://www.soundsolutionsaudio.com/forum/i...wtopic=3176&hl=Go orange...The Deere offering in that HP class was around $10K more with the same loader and transmission config. I don't know if IH makes a tractor in the 40bhp range, but I don't know of too many dealers around here...
April 20, 200619 yr Orange doesn't make anything big enough for us...Loaders that can lift 15,000lbs > Orange loader
April 20, 200619 yr Still like the little orange fella though...Dang, I think this thread has been officially jacked from audio to farming/tractors....
April 20, 200619 yr Yeah...that 7894 is a nice transport, but the processing features on it are pretty sorry. When I replaced it with the 9835, I fell in love with the Xovers and PEQ
April 20, 200619 yr Author My family has been using International farm implements for over 60 years <{POST_SNAPBACK}>My Family has been using Deere Farm Implements for as long as we could afford them on my uncle's Strawberry farm which he sold last year. We ran it for over a centurry... beat that
April 20, 200619 yr We used horses & oxen before that. We have been doing this farming thing for 100 years in this area this year to be exact .
April 20, 200619 yr Author my uncle is 65 and he's been runing it since he was 20. he was getting old and ready to retire. He got a cool 1.2million for the farm, a guarontee the mexicans that have worked there for 10 years would keep their jobs and use of the unused land as he wishes. Of course half of that 1.2 million went to a nice house right by the land. the rest, bank, oh and a really nice RV. Tons of fishing stuff too.Anyway. We have a family reunion down there this weekend so ill get a picture of the sign the state put up on the farm for running it for so long.
April 20, 200619 yr To set your gains with the CD3434, volume 78 is your MAX with the NF preouts on +11.Anything higher and the deck clips. All verified with my scope. 0dB 1K Hz tones, and my CD3434.
