Posted April 21, 200619 yr We're selling the heck out of these long-awaited amps. But we haven't had a chance to actually hear any of the 2-channel amps on any subs yet.We stock the 200.2, 400.2, and 600.2. The amps have been very, very well received. But all our sales so far have been over-the-counter sales. Haven't actually had a chance to see how they compare to say the XTA series from SoundStream that we had prior to the release of the AutoSound amplifiers.Any dissappointments or surprises with the ASA amps?Any expected availability date on the ASA 1000.1 and 2000.1 amps?
May 19, 200619 yr just did a 300.2, & it had about as much power as the VR3 amp it replaced, but was cleaner. It didn't like running bridged to a single 4 ohm sub though (Pioneer 10). for the price it is an ok amp, nothing at all like the XTA amps. (XTA's being WAYY UNDERRATED) the "600watts" on the case of the asa300 was embarrasing to try to explain to the customer though. I told them it was an "ALS" measurement (As Lightning Strikes). come on PB put 250 on the amp & make us all happy (20 amp fuse...so not even on 18V would it come CLOSE to 600W)
June 19, 200619 yr Anyone else use these amps yet?? I am interested in useing an ASA400.2 in the near future for a set of components. What brands would you say PowerBass compares to??
June 19, 200619 yr go for an XA2150, you will love the headroom, & the clarity. the ASA400 might leave you wanting more. the ASA line of amps seems like Interfire/power acoustik/lightning audiothe XA line I would pit against JL/ARC BUT the bigger ones have more power than either of those lines have to offer.
June 19, 200619 yr Thanks. I am just looking for an amp that does what it is supposed to do. All i need is the 400.2 because it is going on a set of components that only need around 100rms.
June 20, 200619 yr umm, yeah, but on your components is where you will really hear the diff between the xa line and the asa line.
July 7, 200619 yr Admin I just looked at thes on millionbuy, and I really like the looks but that does not mean anything about the amp. I am cursious if they will be or are CEA2006 rated.
July 7, 200619 yr my 600.2 is scheduled to be at my door on monday. i'll take pics once i have my subs in

July 10, 200619 yr They are super crazy cheap at www.audio-warehouse.comI almost bought the ASA 700.5 for $200
August 4, 200619 yr Author the amps have not been boomerangs for us. they stay sold. but they are not nearly as powerful as they claim.the 600.2 with 50A of fuses is probably 500W rms at best...still not bad for a set of M12 or even M15's if you have too.we've used the 400.2 on a couple of 2xl comps also.even the 300.2 can get a pair of the S12's moving in an S10 blazer in a sealed box. But a 600.2 in a prefab ported box can really REALLY make the S12's come alive.still not really impressed with the M series of subs. I've heard the M10s sealed on a 600.2--didn't care for it. I've ran the M15's off my XA1500d and it didn't even come close to the ES15Dv2 i run. also heard the M15 in a few other applications and it just didn't wow me at all. I have not yet heard the mono block ASA amps. but given the over rated ness of the 2 channel amps, i'm kinda staying away from the mono amps.
