i dont know how it started but many people say irregardless instead of regardless... its so common that the new word made it into Websters last year.

it bugs the crap out of me when i hear this but it seems most people use this word in place of regardless.

  • You understand crossover slopes so then apply it to a box. Let me help clarify one other thing. What you call ported is actually a 4th order vented enclosure, what you are calling 4th order is actuall

  • You can manually calculate port length with:   Note that enclosure volume is net, and in cubic inches, so multiply your volume in cubic feet by 1728 to get cubic inches for Vb. Port area has to be co

another question. does cubic area effect the range of frequency? if it does at all, i know it effects power handling but does that correlate to frequency sweep?

Not as I know of. Just refers to efficiency at or around the tuning point. And that itself is not necessarily 100% true.

bigger box helps power handling and keeps impedance rise down the downfall of a larger enclosure is the sub has less back pressure therefore losing its ability to stay mechanically in control... say you had a 3000watt sub and a 2000watt amp if you put that sub in a larger enclosure it will move more and keep impedance rise down therefore allowing you to get more power to the sub. Spl guys build smaller enclosures and put shit loads of power to it...
