so i have a box where the port is 30.25 wide and 3.5" tall from the face of the box back but when it bends the gap from the port to the back wall changes to 4.25".  this was a build error where i put the second sheet of wood on the face of the main port as opposed to the end grain of the port.

 

how will this effect my boxes tuning and port dynamics?

Are you able to put another piece of wood there?

yes i am, more than anything im curious to know how this effected the sound of the box so i can compare this to otehr boxes and decide if i want to double up this port or if i want to extend it to lower the tuning.
