Posted April 27, 200619 yr ok i just got a alpine cda9855, and the preouts say 4 volts. i am going to be using a us amps ax1000de and a us amps merlin md41, and the input gain on the ax1000de is 150mV to 3 volts. and the md41 i dont have the manual on. so my question is. will a 4 volt preout work with this amp, and if anybody knows if it will work with the merlin as well. also what exactly will the difference be between 2 volt preouts and 4 volt preouts. becuase im pretty sure 4 volt is better. thanks
April 27, 200619 yr 4V isn't by default better than 3V. Only means you don't have to turn the gains up quite as high to get the same level of output. As for the amp question - you should be fun. Doubtful you're getting the full preout voltage on that Alpine anyway, unless you're calibrating the system at 34 out of a max. 35 volume setting.
April 27, 200619 yr Author ok cool sounds good. lol at 34. i felt freakin stupid asking but i wanted to make sure. thanks
April 27, 200619 yr That H/U is a piece of garbageSell it/return it and get a different modelI swear it doesnt get any louder at 23 vs 30You can use the online specs for the MD41 in the US Amps section. There is a sticky with all the info about each amp
April 27, 200619 yr Author i really dont needa listen to the music louder than 23 anyway so im not to worried. ive had a 9851 for about a year or so n i liked it alot. i just want the mx, and a display that is more readable. so im not to worried about that.
April 27, 200619 yr Author ya but i dont really have the money right now for even a decent eq, i will in the future though, and when that happens i will need it. i got this on the cheap and sold my old 9851 for a good price, ended up only costing me a net total of just over 30 for this one.
April 28, 200619 yr I just dont like it psrsonallythe menu layout is not easy to navigate and pro mode is a nightmare.
April 28, 200619 yr keep your eyes peeled. Tirefryr hooked me up with a decent 7band Clarion for only $22. Ive seen 31band trunk mounts, nice ones, go for less than $100 shipped at times.
